The structure of 1 was elucidated using 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic and ma ss spectrometric da ta. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited cytotoxic activities against human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells with IC50 values of 8.2 microM and 4.3 pM, respectively.

The structures of 1–3 were elucidated using NMR and HRESIMS as well as by chemical correlation of 1 with previously known topsentiasterol sulfate D. Compound 1 proved to be

The structure of aaptanone was determined as 8-methoxy-1-methyl-5,6-dioxo-5,6-dihydro-4H-benzo[de]-1,6-naphthyridine-1-ium-9-olate from spectroscopic data, X-ray analysis, and by spectroscopic analysis of an N-methyl derivative.

Compounds 1 and 2 represent the first examples of natural polyhydroxynaphthazarins with a primary amine group. The structures of 1 and 2 were established by analysis of spectroscopic data and synthesis of their dimethyl ethers.

Its structure has been established as the 2-ethyl carbamoate of rhizochalin on the basis of spectroscopic data and chemical transformations.

The structures of these compounds were established by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, X-ray analysis of the methyl ether of spongiadioxin A (3), and synthesis of the methyl ether of spongiadioxin B (4) from diphenyl ether (9) isolated from Dysidea herbacea.
