The theory and the practice of local development, at least in Italy, are still dominated by the o... more The theory and the practice of local development, at least in Italy, are still dominated by the opposition between top-down and bottom-up approaches. Besides its interpretative sterility, this opposition is only apparent when it comes to policy making since, by definition, no true bottom-up policy ever could be “designed�? ex ante. Here we take seriously Tendler’s (1982) suggestion to tackle development issue from an organizational standpoint and, consistently, we consider local development as a heuristic, boundly rational (Simon, 1947), collective process of actions and decisions. In particular, we equate local development to organizational change, i.e. a change in the common end, in the knowledge and competencies, in the rules of coordination and control (Thompson, 1967) that occurs in a geographical area or in one of its portions or layers. Quindi introduce i principali modelli di Service Quality elaborati nella recente letteratura manageriale e illustra gli strumenti attualmente in uso per la misurazione della qualit\ue0 dei servizi. As Web 2.0 technologies are increasingly being implemented for business purpose, they offer a wid... more As Web 2.0 technologies are increasingly being implemented for business purpose, they offer a wide range of opportunities and potential benefits for the enterprises that internally adopt digital social platforms. However, enterprises usually are not able to correctly and effectively evaluate their investments along this direction. To fill this gap, in this paper we propose two metrics to assess adoption and performance of enterprise social platforms, namely users (Total and Active) Participation Rate and Return on Effort and apply them on data gathered from two companies that recently adopted digital platforms including social tools for collaboration and communication among employees.

This essay focuses on the relationship between organization and digitalization, interpreted as th... more This essay focuses on the relationship between organization and digitalization, interpreted as the partial or total substitution of analog rules with digital rules for decision and action. The notion of digital work is then introduced, as the outcome of the digitalization of work organization, and its equalization to smart work is shown as problematic. Finally, the controversial relationships between the digital transformation of work and workers’ autonomy and well-being are discussed, still drawing fully from organizational theory and research.
