• In Luke 9:10-17, we read about the miracle of feeding the five thousands from the five loaves a... more • In Luke 9:10-17, we read about the miracle of feeding the five thousands from the five loaves and two fish. • You may find here that Jesus satisfied the people's need for food-which is a great miracle-, but as Jews, they must have remembered how God supplied their ancestors' need for food and water in the wilderness of Sinai for forty years and they wished to be treated in the same way. • But as Christians we see Him more than a food supplier, we see Him as our satisfaction in every aspect of our life. As we declare with St. Paul " For in Him we live and move and have our being " Acts 17:28. • In the beginning we find Him satisfies the need of His disciples for guidance, as He is counselling them on the ground of their first mission, He gave them time, quiet place ,full ears away from the hungry multitudes searching for Him and most important a loving caring heart. • But when the people found Him, as they were hungry to hear the word of life, and to get an answer on how to find rest and calmness " He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God and healed those who need of healing. " Luke 9:12 • At the end He satisfied their need for earthy requirements, food for their bodies to live.
