Total 162 articles published during the study period and out of which only 59 articles are published by single author and rest 103 articles are published by two or more than two authors. So it is clear from the study that multiple authorship patterns are prominent in the journal. In the study it has been counted that the average collaboration index is 1.76, average degree of collaboration is 0.64, average collaboration coefficient is 0.56, and average modified collaboration coefficient is 0.34, average relative growth rate is 0.25 and average doubling time is 2.92 during the year 2011-2018
This paper is an attempt to assess the library awareness among the non-users of Government and Go... more This paper is an attempt to assess the library awareness among the non-users of Government and Government sponsored Public libraries in the hilly areas of Darjeeling district of West Bengal with respect to their personal characteristics, library membership of their family members, reasons of not becoming the library members, their familiarity with nearest public library, preference of reading materials in the library, willingness and approach to become member of library, awareness of free reading facility in the library, sources of their information needs, difficulties in obtaining their information and their opinion about the library providing these information. Hence a survey of 61 non-users of public libraries across the hilly areas was conducted through a structured questionnaire. Finally it is concluded that there is need for improvement in the public library services so that the non-users may get attracted to visit the library.
This study aims to analyse the contributions in IASLIC Bulletin –an official organ or a leading l... more This study aims to analyse the contributions in IASLIC Bulletin –an official organ or a leading library science journal published by IASLIC. The total 97 articles were published during the period 2013 – 2017. The study covers the year-wise, institutions-wise, state-wise distribution of contributions, authorship pattern, citation analysis, length of the contributions etc. The study shows that most of the contributions of this journal are contributed by joint authors and state-wise distribution shows that most of the contributions are contributed from West Bengal. Citation analysis of 1369 citations includes finding out number of citations per volume, types of publications cited and preparing of ranked list of cited journals in contributions of this journal. The study reveals that journals are the most cited publication amongst the library and information scientists. Annals of Library and Information Studies is the most cited journal in the contributions of this journal.

This paper is an attempt to examine the attitude of librarians and library in-charges of government and government sponsored public libraries towards the use of mobile phone technologies in the hilly areas of Darjeeling with respect to their demographic profile, their mobile phone brands, SIM system and mobile phone network, mobile phone functions and their phone usage attitudes. The analysis showed that there are positive attitudes of public librarians towards cellular technologies across this hilly region.

This article highlights the present status of library buildings, space allocation, and other physical facilities provided by the government and government sponsored public libraries in the hilly areas of Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Taking into account the geographical factor, the study stressed to cover various aspects of library physical facilities which are vital for providing effective library services in the region. A structured questionnaire was circulated to all the 101 government and government sponsored Public Libraries serving the hilly areas, out of which 94 questionnaires were duly obtained with a response rate of 93%. Effort was also made to physically visit the libraries to collect data. Based on the findings, the study presents some recommendations for the development of effective public library services in the hilly region.
