Bu kitap; duygusal ve davranışsal bozukluklara sahip öğrenciler hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak isteyen sınıf öğretmenleri, özel eğitim öğretmenleri ve alanda çalışan uzmanlar için hazırlanmış giriş niteliğinde bir uygulama kitabıdır. Her bir bozukluğun nedeni, tanımlanması, güncel araştırmalar ışığında verilmeye çalışılmış ve okul ortamındaki pratik uygulamalarla da anlatım zenginleştirilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak belirli bir bozukluğun tüm yönlerine ilişkin temel yaklaşımla birlikte bilimsel olarak geliştirilmiş müdahele yöntemleri de verilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Bu kitabın alanda yeni çalışmaya başlayan öğretmenler kadar güncel verilerle desteklenen tanı koyma ve müdahele stratejilrine önem vermesi nedeniyle alanda uzun süredir çalışmakta olan öğretmenlere ve uzmanlara da yararlı olacağını düşünmekteyiz.

Anormal Psikoloji kitabı, ruhsal bozukluklar alanında çalışan tüm profesyoneller, psikiyatristler, klinik psikologlar, psikologlar, psikolojik danışmanlar, hekimler, sosyal hizmet uzmanları, psikiyatri hemşireleri ve bu alanlarda öğrenci yetiştiren akademisyenler ile eğitim alan öğrenciler için temel bir başvuru kitabıdır.
2013 yılının Mayısı ayında yayımlanan DSM-5 ölçütlerine göre ruhsal bozukluklarla ilgili sunulan bilgilerin güncellemesinin de yapıldığı bu kitap, tüm dünyada pek çok üniversitenin psikiyatri ve psikoloji bölümlerinde ders kitabı olarak okutulmaktadır.
Kitabın her bölümünde, ilk olarak ruhsal bozukluklarla ilgili vakalar sunulmakta, daha sonra bozuklukların klinik tanıları yapılmakta ve DSM-IV-TR’den farklı olan DSM-5’te yapılan değişikliklere yer verilmektedir. Ayrıca, DSM-5’teki tanı ölçütleri, bozuklukların etiyolojisi ve epidemiyolojisi, bozukluklar üzerinde kalıtımın ve çevrenin etkileri, biyolojik ve sosyal ve kültürel etkiler, en güncel araştırmalardan elde edilen verilerle harmanlanarak sunulmaktadır. Ruhsal bozuklukların tedavisinde etkili olacak terapi yaklaşımları ve ilaçla yapılan tedaviler hakkında da bilgiler veren kitap, sahip olduğu zengin içeriği ile eşsiz bir kaynaktır.
Anormal Psikoloji kitabının; profesyoneller ve öğrenciler için önemli bir rehber olacağına, yardıma ihtiyaç duyan insanların sorunlarının çözümüne, ruhsal bozuklukların tanı ve tedavisinde önemli katkılar sağlayacağına inanıyoruz.

The publish or perish aphorism declares publishing a condition for survival in academe. It resonates with the imperatives of neoliberalism that privilege individual success, entrepreneurship, prestige, promotion (self- and institutional) and monetary gain. In this article, I contribute to the vast debates about this aphorism by arguing that its portrayal of publishing as exclusionary for survival of academics has ethical and social justice implications. First, it suggests that research processes are unethical because research participants are not informed of the exclusionary nature of publications. Second, the supposed contribution of research and publication for societal good is marginalised as academics try to find shortcuts to publish for their professional survival. Third, as an approach with a neoliberal feel, the publish or perish dictum elides social justice issues and undermines academic identities, and the dignity of the communities from which data are extracted are at jeopardy. I refer to multidisciplinary literature to outline the violence and exclusions that this aphorism produces. Ultimately, I propose that while publishing is an academic imperative, it can be transformational, ethical, democratic and accommodative of all those that it impacts.

This mixed-methods study investigated teachers’ perceptions and implementation of professional development in writing instruction at a United States public high school campus. A layered approach to professional development was utilized: (1) one group received weekly professional development during a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and participated on a district writing team, (2) one group received weekly professional development during a PLC and received instructional coaching, and (3) one group received only weekly professional development during a PLC. Data were gathered on teachers’ responses to their perceptions of professional development received, teachers’ body and verbal language during PLCs and professional development, reflection notes documented by teachers receiving instructional coaching, and interviews of the teachers who received instructional coaching. The present paper unveils Booker T. Washington’s thoughts on education and their relevance in the contemporary educational system in India. Education is the most powerful tool which changes our life, society and ultimately country. A proper education moulds an individual’s character and makes his/her life better by inculcating moral values, intelligence, creativity and skills. It shows the way how to live and behave in society with dignity. It strengthens an individual’s head, hand and heart. Booker T. Washington, a renowned African-American educationist, dedicated
his entire life for the empowerment of the coloured people of America through the means of education. His educational model proposes industrial and technical education, agricultural education and training, vocational education, skill based knowledge, moral values, etc.

The article is devoted to the creation and development of the higher ecclesiastical school in Russia in the XIX — early XX century. More specifically it deals with the history of «The idea of the Academy» as the basis of this school. The topic is relevant due to the Russian ecclesiastical and educational reforms in the recent years. Having studied materials of the pre-revolutionary reforms of theological academies in Russia, the projects, analytical reports and discussions, the author shows the influence of Western scientific and educational models, on the Russian universities’ experience and theological schools’ experience and implementation of the “idea of Academy” at different stages.

The world is transforming into a post-digital society, as a result, people gain the freedom to communicate, share values and knowledge in a society without borders. The virtual world has become a social interaction space while being integrated to enhance the life quality of citizens in many organizations, such as online class management, health management, and poverty alleviation. From the current circumstances, numerous online users still lack responsibility in handling social media which can cause widespread impact. The study of the digital etiquette of world citizens in a new normal society will provide good practice for effective use of the online space in the digital world of global citizens.

من در این مقاله دو شکل از پادرهوا بودن را از هم تمیز می دهم. یک شکل را پیش از این، پرولتاریای دانشگاهی نام گذاشته بودم، که بر حسب نتایج جدیدتر، آنقدر گسترش یافته‌اند که حجم عظیمی از آنها خارج از فضای دانشگاهی زیست می‌کنند. از این رو پادرهوایان دانشگاهی به آن بخشی از جامعه جدید ارجاع دارد که  علی‌رغم تحصیلات دانشگاهی درون جامعه ای که زیست می‌کنند موقعیت متزلزل و بی ثباتی دارند.
شکل دوم پادرهوایی را باید خارج از نظام توسعه سرمایدارانه ای که از طریق تحصیل کار خود را به جلو می برد دید. مجموعه عظیمی از بی پناهان بی جایگاهی  فاقد سواد لازم دانشگاهی هستند، آنها در موج عظیم مهاجرت در طول چند دهه گذشته به شهرها و روستاهای اطراف مراکز بزرگ شهری آمده اند و شب  روز این موقعیت متزلزل را تجربه می‌کنند. این شکل دوم در این مقاله موضوع بحث ما نیست و در آینده بدان خواهیم پرداخت.

These poems, composed in Somali and in English, provide a poetic reflection of the recently emerged debate on the theme of Caddaan Studies which means "White Studies". The criticism and counter-criticism contained in the debate dug so deep into life nerve of Somali Studies that over a thousand people participated. The poems, under the title "Inaugurating Caddaan Studies" were composed with a critical observation of the debate.

Faculty members in higher education institutions which technology produced in and used actively try to overcome
simultaneous one more works because of their intensive works and responsibilities. This study associated
simultaneously doing one more academic works to multitasking. Multitasking may have a detrimental effect on
academic works since it is not possible to handle one more works at one time. The purpose of this study was to
examine the effect of multitasking on academic works. Four different multitasks are using the Internet, talking
with phone, watching TV or listening music, which are not a part of an academic work while doing this academic
work. This study used correlational research method. 1033 faculty members from 70 different universities located
in various geographical regions of Turkey participated to the study. The data collection tool was a survey
which includes question related to demographics, frequency of multitasking and frequency of academic delay.
The data were analyzed with frequencies, two way contingency table analysis using crosstabs applying Pearson
² and logistic regression. Finally, the study indicated that using the Internet, talking on the phone and watching
TV while doing an academic work had a detrimental effect on academic works. However, listening music while
doing a work did not result in academic delay. Title and age of faculty members were related with academic
delay. These results were discussed in the framework of Mayer’s theory of multimedia learning.

This paper outlines an experiential learning exercise designed to improve business students' ability to apply flexible leadership. The exercise is a two-step process for which students complete a simulation and then write a self-reflective essay. Two mixed-methods studies were conducted to investigate the overall learning experience and changes in students' ability to apply flexible leadership. The findings showed that students perceived the simulation as being satisfying and engaging, realistic and immersive, easy to use, and valuable for teaching work-related skills. After completing the simulation and self-reflective essay, students' perceived ability to apply flexible leadership improved significantly, and they also showed improved self-awareness of their use of flexible leadership.

Critical perspectives on higher education are not the purview of any particular field or discipline. In this chapter, I map out provisional distinctions between three different approaches to the study and practice of higher education. Further, I consider the imperative to interrupt common colonial desires for innocence, certainty, epistemic authority, and exceptionalism that can emerge across each of these different approaches. I begin by reviewing and contrasting the fields of higher education studies, critical university studies, and decolonizing and abolitionist university studies, emphasizing their origins, assumptions, gifts, and limitations. I then reflect on how critical interventions in each of these fields can reproduce harmful colonial patterns. Rather than propose an alternative approach to the study of higher education that would avoid these patterns, thereby seeking to bypass the problem, I emphasize the importance of learning to identify and interrupt these patterns when they inevitably arise in ourselves and others. To this end, I offer a framework that can support the interruption of these colonial patterns. I conclude with a series of questions to prompt further conversations about the importance, as well as the limitations and challenges, of critical approaches to the study of higher education.

The objective of this study is to present and discuss how data visualization can be incorporated into teaching approaches by business faculty in introductory business statistics to strengthen business students' practical skills. Data visualization lessens difficulties in learning statistics by providing opportunities to illustrate analytical findings in graphic form, which is essential for learners with different learning styles. Ünlü eğitim psikoloğu Robert Slavin'in Eğitim Psikolojisi kitabının onuncu baskısı, kuramı uygulamaya aktarma konusunda önemli bir eksikliği gidermekte ve öğretmenlerin sınıfta ihtiyaç duyabilecekleri alanlarda uygulayabilecekleri bilgileri içermektedir.

Kitap, yansıtıcı ve bilinçli bir öğretmenin uygulayabileceği en yeni araştırmaları sunarak, bilinçli öğretmen üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Slavin'e göre bilinçli öğretmen, uygulamasını devamlı surette yansıtan ve bu uygulamaların öğrencileri nasıl etkilediği hakkında net bir düşünceye dayalı olarak öğretim kararları veren kişidir.

Bu kitapta okuyucular alanda önemli ve yeni ortaya çıkan bazı konular ile karşılaşmaktadır. Standart terapinin detaylı bir şekilde tanıtımından sonra bunun adaptasyonunun neden gerekli olduğu, adapte etmenin mantığı mevcut kanıtlar ile sunulur. Daha sonra, tedavi öncesi ve başlangıç oturumlarından tedaviyi sonlandırmaya kadar olan süreç aşama aşama ele alınır. Nüksetmeyi önleme kısmına değinilir. Son olarak kapsamlı vaka örnekleri ile anlatılanların sağlam temeller üzerine oturması sağlanır.
Amacına uygun şekilde düzenlen bu kitap, diyalektik davranış terapisi adapte edilirken belirli sınırlar çizmek yerine okuyucuya geliştirilebilir bir zemin hazırlar. Bu yönüyle tedaviyi uygulamaya ve geliştirmeye teşvik eder. Açıklayıcı vaka örnekleri ve kanıtlar ile tedaviyi tüm ayrıntılarıyla sunarak farklı alanlardan okuyuculara hitap eden bu titiz çalışma özellikle alandaki uzmanlara klinik psikologlara, danışmanlara ve araştırmacılar için bir rehber niteliğinde olacak niteliktedir.

In light of the rising concerns about the spread of COVID-19 and calls to contain the Corona Virus, a growing number of tertiary institutions have shut down in regards to face-to-face classes globally. The Corona virus has revealed emerging vulnerabilities in education systems around the world. It is now clear that society needs flexible and resilient education systems as we face unpredictable futures. A meta-analysis methodology was adopted for this study and pertinent literature was visited to capture the essence of continued learning during these unprecedented times. This article analyzes U.S. university presidents' public responses to the Trump administration's first travel ban in January 2017. Within these responses, most presidents voiced their support for international students, staff, and faculty. However, it remains necessary to consider the discursive frames through which this support is articulated. I found that support for international members of the campus community was largely expressed in ways that implicitly naturalized the regulation of immigration according to racialized assessments of human value. This article considers the role of universities in reproducing and/or interrupting the logics and practices of white supremacy, racial capitalism, and nationalism, and the ethical limits of responses to the ban that are framed through discourses of conditional inclusion and perceived contributions to the campus and country.

In this article, the authors discuss friendship as a method of qualitative inquiry. After defining friendship and positing it as a kind of fieldwork, the methodological foundations of friendship as method are established (Tillmann-Healy, 2003). The purpose of this narrative woven autoethnographic study is to examine the role of friendship in describing disabling physical and attitudinal access barriers in a university setting. Friendship represents a critical analytic lens through which disabled/nondisabled individuals alike may examine their positions, understandings, regimes of practices, and particular knowledges. Friends —Mark and Dan — discuss their experiences of disablement and reflections on dis/ability. The authors draw from their experiences of friendship and disability in higher education and their allied identities to discuss and examine questions of access, disclosure, and inclusion.

This is the inaugural publication from the New Media Consortium's Horizon Project.  It resulted from the work of an advisory board of educational technologists, visionaries and others who worked to look ahead at emerging technologies for teaching, learning, and creative inquiry.
