PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to compare the performance of Iran and G7 countries in the management of the COVID-19 crisis.Design/methodology/approachThe indicators and statistics provided by the Oxford Government Response Tracker are used in this research. Sixteen indicators and their related items have been analyzed for eight countries including Iran, Canada, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, and the United States. For data analysis, Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and Tukey’s post hoc test were applied, and structural equation modeling performed with the help of SPSS and Smart-PLS software.FindingsThe results show that 8 indicators of closing schools, cancellation of public events, restriction of gatherings, restriction of domestic travel, restriction of international travel, reduction of household debt, testing policy, and contact tracing, have an effect on the number of deaths in the countries under review. Sustainable development consists of a long-term, integrated approach to develop and achieve a healthy community by jointly addressing economic, environmental, and social issues, whilst avoiding the over consumption of key natural resources for managers and government planners in public management. Therefore, since the sustainable development refers to three major dimensions, this study aims to identify and rank the sustainable development components influencing and improving the development level of Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran through using hierarchical analysis method (AHP) and Expert Choice software. Today, the rapid development of information and communication technology, the need to reduce costs and bureaucracy and the increase in the quality and variety of services, has become an opportunity for governments to use e-government services to provide a better life for citizens. It should be noted that in terms of providing access to the community amenities tries; responsible organizat ions in the field of information technology should provide access for adults and senior citizens.
