It consists of the experimental determination of the improvement in heat transfer due to film scraping and by particle convection. The heat picked up by the ...

The details of the unit are available elsewhere (Ramshaw, 1983). The influence of gravity on liquid-phase mass transfer in packed beds has been studied much earlier. A ...

However, no direct measurement of the gas-side mass transfer coefficient has been reported. We present experimental ...

Compared to a fixed bed, higher thermal recovery can be achieved in a moving bed with countercurrent flow of gas and solids. However, the moving beds have ...

Its feasibility in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) processes has been explored. A 4-bed PSA and a 3-bed PSA, which emulate the moving bed processes, and duplex PSA and a modified duplex PSA have been selected for the exploratory studies. Simulation studies

The key to process intensification lies in novel designs that substantially enhance mass transfer rates for equipment miniaturization and that combine distinct tasks such as reaction and separation for improved overall performance. A modification to existing rotating packed bed (HIGEE)

Several PSA cycles, which are variants of the Skarstrom cycle (Reynolds et.al. 2005, 2006 and 2008), have been proposed involving four basic steps, namely, pressurization, ...

The effect of insolation and the liquid level on the collector performance has been studied with acetone and petroleum ether 40-60 C. The Hottel-Whillier equation, when modified to include the fraction of liquid level, correlates the experimental data. The collector
