The study aimed to examine how new secondary schoolteachers used ICT. The study included all secondary school teachers who teach 9th and 10th classes. The researchers chose 200 secondary school teachers randomly. In descriptive research, a questionnaire is an excellent approach to collect data. The data were analyzed using statistical approaches to understand frequency, percentage, mean score, and standard deviation. This study found that using ICT devices and other tools can help secondary school teachers become productive. The school has internet access to aid teaching. The study indicated that secondary instructors who use ICT resources like social media and YouTube during class would be effective, and their pupils learn more. Also, ICT is supposed to assist teachers in communicating better and finding and sharing knowledge.

Our interest in this paper revolved around the argument that curriculum change and capacity building of teachers are integral to each other. This paper focused at exploring, how teacher agency to implement change is strengthened or weakened by the challenges posed by the ecological conditions or social settings (culture, structure and materials) in which they work and the extent to which teachers feel empowered to reflect on and to improve their practices (reflexivity). The setting of this research was the province of Punjab during the implementation period of the change introduced in the secondary school National Curriculum for English (2006), (Government of Pakistan, 2006). An innovative research dimension is related to comparing this relationship in public/private universities in Pakistan. In a survey study, 218 faculty members were involved from four universities. The results indicate that transformational leadership and participative decision making have a significant impact on job satisfaction of university teachers. The relationship with intrinsic motivation is weak and no significant link with self-efficacy could be found. These results are not in line with available research and question established assumptions about leadership and decision making. In the discussion we focus on explanations that especially build on the particular current status of Pakistan higher education.

Each kind of CPS leads to specific kind of learning outcomes. The CPS may be broadly grouped into rehearsal, organization and elaboration. The culture, teaching learning situations and students conceptions limit choices to use different CPS. Because of contextual nature of students CPS, qualitative approaches appeared advantageous to explore students CPS. In this study, focus group interviews were used to discover Pakistani students opinions of their CPS. The public-e school students of Punjab were the population of the study. Purposive sampling was used to select sample to conduct focus group interviews. Students views were analysed by implying applied thematic analysis. Rehearsal in its passive form was the sole CPS recognisable in students views. Different aspects and characteristics of rehearsal behaviour were discussed in the context of Pakistani science students culture, teaching methods, parall...

The aim of the empirical study reported in this article was to raise academic leaders’ awareness in view of adopting transformational leadership behavior. Leaders from a public university were involved in a training intervention program. Content analysis of interviews data collected before and after the training helped to check the impact of the training program. Compared to the ‘before’ training situation, we find clear differences in the awareness level of leaders reflecting an impact of the training intervention program related to TL-behaviors. Next to limitations of the study, the article focuses on the design of future research.

In the current study, we involve 395 secondary school teachers from twenty government secondary schools across the largest province of Pakistan. Respondents reported their actual adoption of didactical strategies, Pedagogical Beliefs, and Self-Efficacy Beliefs about teaching on instruments. The study aimed at describing and explaining the adoption of didactical strategies by linking it to secondary school teachers cognitions. In relation to the didactical strategies adoption, Constructivist Beliefs, Traditional Beliefs, instructional Self-Efficacy, decision-making Self-Efficacy and disciplinary Self- Efficacy were linked with didactical strategies to explore the current level of adoption. Our findings suggest that: (1) there is generally lower level adoption of varying didactical strategies by secondary school teachers; (2) there is a notable theory-practice gap in the actual classrooms (3) specific teacher cognitions are meaningfully connected with the adoption of didactical strategies. Implications are put forward as to a benchmark-driven professional development policy for secondary school teachers and the establishment of quality monitoring systems in schools

The Learning performance test was administered together with survey instruments on intrinsic motivation, metacognitive awareness, and self-efficacy beliefs. Analysis of covariance of results points at a positive significant differential effect of reciprocal peer tutoring on student teachers’ learning performance. However, no interaction effect was observed in mediating variables. Post-reciprocal peer tutoring interviews were organized to analyze students and teachers’ reflections about reciprocal peer tutoring. Implications are presented to educational psychologists, teacher educators, and educational policymakers with recommendations to model collaborative learning approaches; such as reciprocal peer tutoring.

The aim of the study was to describe and explain the perceived adoption of particular didactical strategies of student teachers and the actual adoption by teacher educators in real classroom practices. The results of the current study reveal an overalllow-level adoption of varying types of didactical strategies from teacher educators and student teachers. In a comparative aspect, teacher educators' actual adoption of all types of didactical strategies washigher than the student teachers' perceived adoption. The study recommends certain measures for policy makers, curriculum developers and heads of initial teacher educationinstitutionsthat prepare future teachers in Pakistan. The findings of the study also call for the implementation of student-centereddidactical approaches for successful and goal-orientedteaching and learning in the initial teacher educationsystem in Pakistan.

A sample of 250 student teachers enrolled in masters in education from two largest universities of Pakistan participated in the study. The respondents filled out survey instruments related to their perceived adoption of didactical strategies, pedagogical beliefs and self-efficacy beliefs. The main findings of the study includes (i) an overall weak adoption of the different types of didactical strategies by student teachers, and (ii) a significant positive relationship found in the perceived adoption of didactical strategies and student teachers' cognitions. The results suggest a critical need for the continuous professional development of teacher educators in ITE institutes in Pakistan. Also there are clear recommendations for the curriculum developers and educational policy makers to put forward benchmarking exercises on regular basis.
