Background
Early-stage glottic and supraglottic (T1-T2) squamous cell carcinoma has been the center stage for investigators interested in discovering how oncological and functional outcomes compare after the main therapeutic options (radiotherapy, RT, or laser surgery, LS).
Objectives
To compare the primary treatment modalities (surgery, laser therapy, and radiotherapy) in the early stages of laryngeal cancer based on their oncological and clinical outcomes, including survival, recurrence, long-term voice and swallowing function, and larynx preservation.
Search methods
A systematic search of relevant published English articles in electronic libraries (PubMed, Medline EMBASE, Scopus (Medline), CINAHL, Web of Science) was performed, and potentially eligible studies were retrieved for evaluation.
Selection criteria
Using keywords and MeSH terms, articles that compared early-stage SCC data comparing RT and LS were included. Further, studies published between 2000 and 2023 reporting all or either of the following outcomes were considered: voice quality (voice handicap index/acoustic voice index), long-term voice and swallowing function, survival (OS, DSS, and DFS), recurrence/relapse, local control, and larynx preservation.
Results
Results of the current review showed better outcomes on voice quality: perceptual (0.15 [-0.07, 0.37], p=0.34), acoustic (1.22 [0.52, 1.91], p=0.6), in favor of laser surgery. However, there were no significant statistical differences in laryngeal preservation (0.86 [0.79, 0.93], p=0.0002), OS (0.97 [0.92, 1.02], p=0.21), DFS (0.98 [0.83, 1.15], p=0.76), DSS()0.97 [0.94, 0.99], p=0.02, local control (0.99 [0.97, 1.01], p=0.19). However, laser surgery is highly associated with recurrence or disease progression, showing a statistically significant difference (1.41 [0.71, 2.79], p=0.33) with RT.
Conclusions
RT and LS are first-line treatments for managing early-stage head and neck (glottic and supraglottic) SCC; hence, they should be encouraged because they exhibit similar results for laryngeal preservation and overall survival.
Keywords: early glottic cancer, supraglottic, squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), laryngectomy, laser surgery, microsurgery, radiotherapy, oncological outcome.

The study examines the factors that predict customer-oriented employee voice behaviour in the hospitality context. The study identified 20 studies that met the search criteria. The following systematic analysis identified four themes that explain customer-oriented employee voice behaviour in the hospitality industry. The current evidence shows that customer-employee relationships, organisationemployee relationships, leadership, and organisation impact customer-oriented employee voice behaviour. The theoretical, research and practical implications of the findings are discussed.

With the increasing prevalence of diabetic cases, there is an urgent need to manage the disease by assessing the impact of nonadherence to anti-diabetic medication. Objectives: This meta-analysis aims to assess the impact of nonadherence to anti-diabetic medications on health status and mortality risk. Method: A total of 216 medical bibliographies from Medline, Google Scholar, and Dimensions were generated and screened for relevance to the review with no restriction to the publication date. Two independent reviewers screened and extracted the data. A biostatistician assisted in conducting the meta-analysis using RevMan. Results: The study selected six articles that met the criteria for meta-analysis. All the studies indicated that non-adherence to anti-diabetic medication increased the odds of a patient experiencing health complications [z= 56.57 (P < 0.00001)] and the odds of death [z= 17.25 (P < 0.00001)]. Similarly, the findings revealed that non-adherence to antidiabetic medication led to an increased probability of hospitalization [z= 1.74 (P < 0.00001)], probability of the patients visiting the emergency room [z= 2.33 (P < 0.02)], and probability of the patients developing acute complication [z= 1.171 (P < 0.09)]. Conclusion: The review demonstrated that nonadherence to anti-diabetic medication negatively impacted patient health status and increased the risk of death. Therefore, comprehensive intervention strategies to address the factors contributing to nonadherence to anti-diabetic medicines are necessary to reduce the disease burden.

The parallel from an organizational perspective is that at any one given point in one’s career, one is bound to have a bad boss full of negative energy towards them, or at the least, a boss who expresses bad attitude towards them. Undoubtedly, bad bosses come in every aspect, shape and size: they are too insensitive, indecisive, abrasive, unfair and inconsistent. They often display such traits as micromanaging their employees to an extent that they stifle their ability to carry out their mandates and grow them as they also grow the organizations for which they work.

Ancient Egypt is one of the fascinating subjects in the film world. Many films have been dedicated to this subject and general theme. Most of the time, these films focus on the ruling system, the gods and kings, and how the powers that be at the time ruled their land. Alternatively, a significant portion of research and films tend to focus on the livelihoods abstractly, speaking about general trends without necessarily mentioning individual people. This film is different, especially in its personal nature and approach. Ancient Egypt: Life and Death in the Valley of Kings mostly focuses on the lives of an everyday couple, ordinary people and how their lives were. It is a rather impressive attempt at the linking of various pieces of the lives of an ordinary couple, efforts that are helped a great deal by the fact that their bodies were mummified and preserved almost intact, to the point where details of their lives like how they met and fell in love with each other, the food they ate, their everyday habits and the nature of their homes could easily be traced from their mummified bodies and remains.

Reports of drugs and substance abuse are common worlds over, yet this is a matter that is rarely talked about within the corridors of command within the military ranks. It is mainly discussed in the mainstream media, the war on it being up-scaled, including cracking down on some of the drug abusers. Those found culpable are subjected to serious judicial measures. With the increased use of drugs and substances among the servicemen and women, it is apparent that the laws regulating the same have become a bit lenient, or that the leadership within these camps has taken a low profile. This is a pointer that the future of the military is bleak and should be a worrying thing. Should Assad’s regime collapse, withdraw or crumble altogether, the opposition’s celebration, both armed and peaceful, will be followed by daunting challenges. In fact, it should be noted that Syria is one of the countries in the Arab Spring that is highly likely to face a serious regime succession dilemma. Therefore, this task sets out to answer the question: How then did Assad’s regime fair economy-wise with the widespread violence in Syria?
