In the main time, technological advancements, cost reduction, and governmental incentives have made some renewable energy sources more competitive in the market. Among them, wind energy is one of the fastest growing renewable energy sources. This work is applied to investigate whether WADI-SEIDNA region (North Khartoum, Sudan) is suitable to generate electrical power or not, according to a design and modeling of horizontal blade turbine. A detailed mathematical model of a squirrel-cage induction generator (SCIG) coupled to wind turbine system using vector control computing technique is also done. The performance of wind energy conversion system (WECS) is studied using simulation developed in MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Artificial Intelligent techniques are increasly used for condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of machines. In this paper, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) approach employed for fault diagnosis in the generator, based on monitoring generator currents to give indication of the winding faults. Feed-forward Network, error back propagation training algorithm are used to perform the generator faults diagnosis and their values. NN which has been trained for all possible operating condition of the machine used to classify the incoming data. The inputs of the NN are the stator and rotor currents, and the output represents the running condition of the generator. The training of the NN achieved by the data through a mathematical model based approach to simulate the generator faults at various degree of severity. This paper evaluates through simulation line currents magnitude of the generator .The final results have been represented on a monitoring unit, built using matlab program, to give early warning of the generator failure. A switching mode power supply is a light weight power solution for most modern electronic equipment. The high frequency transformer is the backbone of modern switched mode power supply. The skin and proximity effects are the major problems in high frequency transformer design, because of induced eddy currents. Winding structures of power transformers are also a critical part of transformer design and manufacture, especially for high frequency applications. In this paper, design of minimum size of high frequency center tap transformer and LC filter for switching mode power supply (SMPS) is proposed and then used in DC/DC converter. The maximum flux of the transformer was calculated, and in order to prevent the increase of iron losses, special core material is used; in the meantime the equations of the design are proved and simulated using PSIM program.

The output power of wind turbines is determined by aerodynamic forces created by the interaction between the wind and the rotor blades to convert the kinetic energy of the wind into useful mechanical energy. This paper represents a design and modeling of horizontal blade turbine, which is achieved by using SOLIDWORKS program.
