Daucus est genus plantarum herbacearum familiae Apiacearum, quarum species latissime, omnem quidem per orbem terrarum nota, est carota, holus radicale. Generi sunt circiter viginti quinque species. Veterrimum generis fossile notum, quod abhinc annorum 1.3 milliones crescebat, in Materiis insulis in Oceano Atlantico inventum est.[1]
Folia, caules, et radices aliquot specierum a hominibus comeduntur.
