What devices does Limit work on?
Limit Phone works best with Pixel phones. It’s also been tested on recent Motorola phones.

Can I install Limit on a tablet?
Yes, Limit works with most recent Android devices.
I need to install another MDM work profile on my phone, does Limit Phone work with that?
No, you can only have one MDM on your phone at a time. Read about how Limit works.
Does Limit work with Google’s family link?
No. It uses a similar MDM mechanism to Limit. Read about how Limit works.
How does website blocking work?
Read our how it works explainer.
It should work on any recent Android phone - please contact us if you have any issues.
You should do your own research, if in doubt, don’t use Limit.
Do Limit Phone and its creators take any responsibility for data loss / breaking my phone?
No. You install Limit Phone at your own risk.
Why does Limit lock my device’s time settings?
Limit relies on having an accurate time for unlocking apps with delays. Device time is locked and set based on location.
How much does Limit cost?
Two weeks free to try it out. Then it’s $29.99/year. See the pricing page for more info.
Why isn’t Limit open source?
The main goal for Limit is for it to be funded in a sustainable and ‘aligned’ way. We’re not sure how to do this with an open source business model.
Installer Browser Compatibility
Limit Phone can be installed on your device using USB through your web browser using WebUSB which allows browsers to communicate with USB devices.
Currently only Chromium based browsers support USB.
Why do I need a computer to install Limit Phone?
In order for Limit Phone to block apps robustly with no workarounds it uses MDM (or ‘Device Owner’) permissions on your phone. Setting up an MDM on Android is complicated, so Limit has a web-based installer to help configure Limit Phone over USB. Read more.
Why do I need to remove accounts from my phone?
To give Limit MDM permissions over USB requires that there are no accounts on your phone. This a limitation of Android.
Why do I need to set Limit as my default browser?
Limit blocks all other browers. If you do not set Limit as the default browser then other apps will automatically open your default browser which is blocked by Limit.
For a good experience on your phone set Limit Browser as your default browser.
