This stands out as a unique and power-oriented take on the MessageEase-style layouts that have maintained a cult following through apps like ThumbKey, Flickboard, and Unexpected Keyboard (+ other wonky stuff like 8VIM).
Compared to the code-bases linked above, the srcs for Stenoboard are concise and readable. It’s awesome to have a new implementation (on top of the bespoke theory-crafting!), but my (somewhat outdated) Android installation wasn’t able to parse the pre-built APK. Still amazing to have such novel, well-developed, and documented ideas introduced into this space, but I’d love to see them in their “native habitat” (doesn’t have to be pretty :p) without/before re-implementing or taking inspiration from anything. I’ll be sure my favorite fellow layout nerds get a hold of it ^u^
