Esistono nel nostro immaginario collettivo delle associazioni mentali che portano a legare alcune peculiarità ad altrettanti soggetti; non si tratta di semplici luoghi comuni quanto associare delle peculiarità, principalmente fisiche ed estetiche, ad alcune categorie di persone: tali caratteristiche sono anche comportamentali e osservabili dal cliente. Facile dire: " lo licenzio! " Reazione spesso sbagliata! Perchè quando si dice: «lo licenzio" vuol dire che non assumiamo persone come un investimento (un asset umano) ma come un oggetto, un macchinario (un asset tecnico) ; anzi, anche peggio di un oggetto o macchina. Esempio: Se un manager avesse investito 20k€ , in un sistema di computer o in un software aziendale (un asset tecnico), al riscontrare che il sistema non funziona come anticipato, nessun manager reagirebbe andando dal suo responsabile, DICENDO: " butto via il sistema di computer! Ho fatto un cattivo investimento:" No! il manager, giustamente, farebbe di tutto per apportare migliorie/update al sistema per migliorare il rendimento e farlo funzionare come aveva previsto.
