About ReSET

ReSET at the University of Maryland aims to provide participants with unique opportunities to conduct research in sustainable energy generation, use and storage, including the development of new materials for energy technologies. Students will acquire experience in hands-on scientific methods, data analysis, modeling and simulation tools and best practices in laboratory safety protocols leveraging state-of-the-art facilities. Program benefits include the following:

  • Participation in poster sessions, field trips and career development
  • Presenting research findings at national conferences
  • Awards, including a $6,800 stipend, housing and a meal stipend

Topics of Interest

ReSET is interested in advancing the field of sustainable energy solutions, including but not limited to the following subject areas:

  • Low-temperature, low-energy consumption
  • Reducing use of nitrogen in fertilizers or fuels
  • Rapid nanomanufacturing of materials for energy applications
  • Solid-state battery manufacturing
  • Low environmental impact approaches to make transparent electrodes for devices
