teaching and learning procedure. In recent years, the concept of online or distance learning has expanded to include a
growing number of Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), free higher education courses open for enrollment for any
Internet user. In several universities now distance learing is replced by MOOCs. The author mainly gives a brief idea about
the concept, history of MOOCs, pros and cons of it and how MOOCs enhance accessibility, student engagement, and
experiences for lifelong learning.

electronic resources has transformed the work of collection development and their availability is highly demanded.
The collection development program of Library system has always strived to provide information in the most
appropriate formats. The authors have shared their experience about the collections at Smt. Hansa Mehta Library,
The M S University of Baroda, which is in vibrate mode for developing the library as a digital library by creation of
digital collections and Institutional Repository. There is huge thrust and also increased awareness for the use of eresources
and open source resources at Smt. Hansa Mehta Library.
However, libraries find it difficult to cope up with periodical subscriptions due to a recent spurt in periodical
literature and the alarming rate of rise in their price. The rising costs of periodicals and the associated difficulties
faced by the librarians in satisfactorily catering to the requirements of their clients can be adequately handled
through the application of cost-benefit analysis. It is felt that a cost-benefit analysis can increase the awareness of
librarians, administrators and others concerning costs and use patterns, but cannot be truly effective without the help
of intuitive value judgment.
