The anticipationism is the future oriented philosophical attitude, according to which we are allowed to try a concrete, conceptual and practical anticipation of some pieces of future, The selection criteria are mostly ethical, political and economic. Grounded between Marx- ist political philosophy and common reformism (1), anticipationism operates within the symbolic sphere: showing, here and now, that it is possible to already test or live some potentialities of the future. I defended the idea that anticipa- tionism is the essential approach of the intersection between art and philosophy (2) because philosophy itself can turn many of its arguments in artistic practices (but also in architecture and design).

The first dogma is that is impossibile to conceive an exit strategy to anthropocentrism, the second one is the idea that if we can try to conceive an exit strategy then, this strategy, is anthropocentric also (a sort of second order anthropocentrism). Based on Object-oriented ontology’s (OOO) literature I propose a solution against the two dogmas and I argue in favor of a different kind of metaphysics between ecology (from ontological point of view) and philosophical etology.

This may come across as a rather trivial sentence, but it contains a challenging philosophical thesis: the world is more than what appears. Realism, which is actually a complex set of theories and metaphysical positions, starts here: from the acknowledgment of the distinction between "perception" and "reality." The whole history of Western philosophy, within an obvious system of recurring cycles, is a tightrope between positions that make the world depend on the subject who perceives it (from Pyrrho of Elis up to Schopenhauer) to theories that highlight the transcendence of the outside world (from Plato to Frege). From the standpoint of naive metaphysics, reality is the set of all the " objects " of the world (including, potentially, also all the " possible objects "). The argument that metaphysics, and therefore the analysis of reality, should deal with objects may appear controversial to those who argue, like Ludwig Wittgenstein in his Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, that "the world is the totality of facts, not of things "(§1.1): this depends on the fact that in philosophy not only "things", but also "the analysis of things", are often more complex than we can imagine. In order to have a good working hypothesis, let's say that reality is the necessary level for all other levels to exists: it is the condition of possibility of any other thing (including the unreal and the surreal). Philosophy is not physics: therefore, rather than reality as such, it analyses our approach to reality. Arguing that there is an outside world that transcends the individuals who perceive it (realism) does not mean believing that what we see corresponds to what exists: the first false polarization between realism and anti-realism goes through this misconception. It is precisely because there are different ways of seeing reality that we can deduce that there is a level of reality that transcends these ways, and the very existence of this level distinguishes better interpretations from worse ones (Umberto Eco called them "overinterpretations").

The volume provides a wide account of some of the main topics in these fields, thus dealing with nearly everything that human beings hold as valuable.
Expert scholars and young researchers contribute to this virtual symposium, reframing the current philosophical debates about the definition and the history of the concept of Naturalism, the different declinations of Kantian Constructivism, the functioning of Rational Choice Theory, the complex role played by Neuroscience in redefining the contours of ethical theories and bioethics, the puzzles of Deontic Logic, and the bases of Animal Ethics.
Divided into three sections, presented by comprehensive introductions by Sofia Bonicalzi, Leonardo Caffo and Mattia Sorgon, the present collection includes contributions by Martina Belmonte, Michele Borri, Luciana Ceri, Guglielmo Feis, Matteo Grasso, Andrea Lavazza, Sarah Songhorian, and Francesca Vitale. Each author develops a distinctive and independent position, while critically engaging with the central themes of contemporary reflection.
This new, major study will benefit moral philosophers, philosophers of science, and scientists concerned with bioethics, while at the same time stimulating and challenging anyone who is curious about the nature and the origins of ethical and metaethical enquiries.

Molte
dello scorso millennio, è volto a riposizionare l’umanità
