Sanjib Pohit
Dr. Sanjib Pohit is presently working as Professor & Thematic Lead of Computable General Equilibrium Modelling and Policy Analysis Unit at National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi, India. He was educated at Indian Statistical Institute. Previously, he held position at CSIR-National Institute of Science, Technology & Development Studies (Professor AcSIR & Senior Principal Scientist), NCAER (Senior Fellow), Indian Statistical Institute (Research Fellow), and was a visiting scholar to University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, USA) and Conference Board of Canada.
He has served as members of several committees of Government of India including climate Change Modelling group of Ministry of Environment & Forests. He has provided Advisory Services to various national and international bodies, including The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, The Energy & Resource Institute, OECD, CUTS, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernest & Young, ICRIER and RIS.
Dr. Pohit is an experienced modeler in the area of trade and environment with 20 years of modelling experience. His domain of research experience includes science and technology policies, institutional economics, transport economics, input-output models, FDI, informal trade, automobile industry, and South Asian integration. He has co-authored 9 books, and has published more than 100 articles in journals/books. He has presented his research at seminars and conferences in different parts of the world - Japan, Canada, USA, India, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Netherlands, Philippine, Singapore, and Finland.
