The Ecological Flows Science Advisory Board (EFSAB) was created to assist the Department of Envir... more The Ecological Flows Science Advisory Board (EFSAB) was created to assist the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) with developing a scientifically defensible approach to establishing flows that protect the ecological integrity of streams and rivers in North Carolina as required under Session Law 2010-143. The EFSAB was tasked with reviewing published and unpublished studies that characterize the ecology of North Carolina rivers, relating ecological conditions to flow alteration, and identifying a scientifically defensible approach to establishing flow requirements for the maintenance of ecological integrity.
