Nowadays most of factories use non-linear loads, such as VSD (Variable Speed Drive), rectifier, U... more Nowadays most of factories use non-linear loads, such as VSD (Variable Speed Drive), rectifier, UPS system, computer, etc. They cause the harmonics and will be reduce the cost of power quality in the electric distribution system. Harmonics also influence the performance of the loads, which is used in that system.To reduce the harmonics in the system, we applied active filter by using a DSP card that connected with a PC. A sinusoidal waveform distorted with the harmonics will be processed, by using LabView 7 software, so the harmonics could be reduce or eliminated.By using DSP card, the harmonics which appear in the system, caused by of non-linear loads usage, can be reduced until 25 th harmonics, so the cost of the power quality in that system will increased. In this case, we using a Sheldon Instrument's DSP Card, SI-C33DSP-PCI, which is plugged by an analog I/O module, SI-MOD68xx, which is used for signal processing inside the computer. Furthermore, we must add a library for LabView 7, called QuVIEW, which is used to operate that DSP card.From the anlaysis that have been done, we can take a conclusion, the cost average of eliminated harmonics in distorted waveform is up tu 80%. Which on pure triangle waveform, cost of %THD decreased from 13.4376% become 3.12239%
ABSTRAK Monitor berteknologi LCD mulai banyak digunakan sebagai pengganti monitor berteknologi ta... more ABSTRAK Monitor berteknologi LCD mulai banyak digunakan sebagai pengganti monitor berteknologi tabung (CRT). Dibandingkan dengan monitor CRT, monitor LCD memiliki bentuk yang lebih ringan dan ringkas, menghasilkan disipasi panas yang lebih kecil, tidak mudah menimbulkan kelelahan pada mata terutama pada penggunaan untuk jangka waktu lama serta lebih hemat dalam hal penggunaan energi. Didalam paper ini akan dibahas tentang studi perbandingan penggunaan energi antara monitor LCD dan CRT. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengukuran daya pada 10 komputer masing-masing dengan menggunakan monitor LCD dan CRT. Pengukuran dilakukan pada saat komputer melakukan proses komputasi dengan bantuan software benchmarking BruteBenchmark pada 4 proses yang berbeda, yaitu : CPU Performance, FPU test, VGA Card dan Hard Disk. Hasil pengujian memperlihatkan bahwa pada proses CPU Performance LCD monitor menghemat 1.195 watt per sepuluh komputer yang diuji, sedangkan untuk FPU test dan VGA Card test LCD monitor menghemat sebesar 792 watt dan 905 watt demikian juga pada proses Hard Disk test LCD Monitor dapat menghemat sebesar 849 watt dibandingkan CRT Monitor. Secara rata-rata dari semua proses diatas LCD monitor dapat menghemat sebesar 935 watt untuk setiap 10 komputer yang diukur. Untuk penggunaan perumahan atau institusi kecil perbedaan ini tidak terlalu besar pengaruhnya terhadap penghematan energi. Namun untuk institusi yang memiliki jaringan komputer dengan skala menengah (memiliki 1.000 komputer), maka penghematan yang terjadi sebesar 93,5 kw. Motor DC Servo adalah merupakan salah satu motor yang banyak digunakan dalam industri karena mempunyai keunggulan yaitu mudah diatur putarannya. Dalam makalah ini akan dibahas Motor DC Servo jenis permanen magnet yang diaplikasikan dalam mesin potong karton. Pengaturan kecepatan menggunakan pengontrol kecepatan melalui perubahan frekuensi. Dari hasil pengujian di lapangan didapatkan nilai tegangan konstan, dan nilai arus, daya, dan torsi meningkat seiring meningkatnya kecepatan. Didapatkan peningkatan torsi 0,56 Nm pada putaran 102 Rpm dan naik menjadi 1,43 Nm pada putaran 255 Rpm. Kata kunci: Motor DC Servo Permanen Magnit. Permanent Magnet DC Servo Motor is one of the motor types that often used in industry because of their superiority in speed control. This paper will discuss about Permanent Magnet DC Servo Motor that applied in the paper cutting machine. The motor's speed is controlled by changing the frequency of the supply. From the result of the testing, the motor has constant voltage, raising current, power and torque together along the speed raise. The torque increases between 0.56 Nm (in 102 rpm) to 1.43 Nm (in 225 rpm).

This experiment is used to investigate torque, current flow, cos , input power and efficiency from various motor speed. The result of this analysis, for two placement motor speed controller show that speed controller that is connected on main winding have 15 % more efficient than motor speed controller that is connected on source supply. The speed controller that is connected on main winding is not influence motor input voltage on auxiliary winding. The system become more complex and the protection system become more complicated. The protection relay should accommodate the system changes according to the system conditions and topologies. As part of developmental aspect of Distributed Artificial Intelligent, Multi Agent System (MAS) is a challenging method for improving the intelligent properties of relay protection. This paper introduces the use of MAS approach on radial distribution system protection dominated with DER using dispersed adaptive rule-based protection supported by distributed database agent. The simulation results confirmed that the proposed algorithm can respond within 15.05 ms.
Data acquisition and supervisory control are usually performed using client-server architecture a... more Data acquisition and supervisory control are usually performed using client-server architecture and centralized control in conventional power systems. However, the message transmission and fault clearing are too slow for large-scale complex power systems. Microgrid systems have various types of distributed energy resources (DERs) which are quite different in characteristics and capacities, thus, the client-server architecture and centralized control are inadequate to control and operate in microgrids. Based on MATLAB/Simulink (ver.R2012a) simulation software and Java Agent Development Framework (JADE) (JADE 4.1.1-revision 6532), this paper proposes a novel fault protection technology that used multi-agent system (MAS) to perform fault detection, fault isolation and service restoration in microgrids. A new topology identification method using the YBus Matrix Algorithm is presented to successfully recognize the network configurations. The identification technology can respond to microgrid variations. Furthermore, the interactive communications among intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), circuit breakers (CBs), and agents are clarified during fault occurrence. The simulation results show that the proposed MAS-based microgrids can promptly isolate faults and protect the system against faults in real time.
