William Faulkner
William Cuthbert Faulkner (New Albany, 25 de setembre de 1897 – Byhalia, 6 de julhet de 1962) foguèt un escrivan e scenarista american. Recebèt lo Prèmi Nobel de Literatura en 1949. Amb Mark Twain e probablament Tennessee Williams, Faulkner es un dels escrivans màgers de la literatura del sud dels Estats Units. Èra pas gaire conegut abans que li donèssen lo Prèmi Nobel, pr'aquò son òbra es ara fòrça apreciada pel grand public e los critics. Se considèra tanben qu'es un dels escrivans de ficcion mai importants dels Estats Units.
