Naqamte is a town in the western part of [[Oromia]  The city of Naqamte is located in the Oromia region of [[East Wallagga]  It is located at an elevation of 2,088 meters and has latitude and longitude 905’N 36033E.  Naqamte is located in Guutoo Wayyuu district.

Naqamte was the capital of the former Wallagga Administrative District and is now the capital of East Wallagga district.  According to the 2005 census, the city has a population of 84,5  According to the 1994 census, Naqamte had a population of 47,

There are historical sites in Naqamte such as Kumsa Moroda Palace, the tomb of Onesmus Nasib (Abba Gammachiis), Wallagga settlement and so on.  One of the largest institutions in Nashville is the [[University of Wales]  A state-of-the-art stadium is being built in Naqamte at a cost of over Rs.  The stadium was named [[Wallace Stadium]  Naqamte is famous for its Ancootee which is a traditional dish in Wallagga.  Many hotels and restaurants offer this dish to their guests.

Naqamte was founded in the mid-19th century.  It was then the capital of the [[Wall Kingdom]  History tells us that Bakaree Godana and his son Morodaa Bakaree made Naqamte the capital of the [[Wallagga Kingdom]  Later, Moroda's son, Kumsaa Moroda is said to have settled there and ruled Wallagga.
