For this purpose, first of all, students' addiction levels were determined, and then it was examined whether these levels differed according to the gender of the students, the purpose of using the internet on the smartphone, and the usage times of smartphones. The causal comparison method was used in the research as a quantitative research method and the sampling of the research consisted of 435 students studying in the Faculty of Theology at Ondokuz Mayıs University and who were determined by the accessible sampling method. In order to determine the smartphone addiction levels of university students, the data was obtained with the Smartphone Addiction Scale. Descriptive statistics, the independent samples t-test, and one-way analysis of variance were used to analyze the obtained data. The results of the research showed that students studying in the Faculty of Theology had low levels of smartphone addiction, male students had higher levels of smartphone addiction compared to female students, the use of social media via smartphones increased the risk of addiction, and that students with a higher average daily smartphone usage also had higher levels of addiction.

Cognitive strategy practices are conducted in the first participating group while metacognitive strategy practices are conducted in the latter group. Structured interview consisting of open-ended questions is employed with the aim of determining participants' perspectives. Descriptive analysis is used for data analysis. Findings show that their satisfaction levels in terms of the practices are high, and that they believe in the usefulness of the practices in terms of the knowledge and skills in the use of strategy and content area. Also, it is found that they are satisfied with the practices in terms of opportunities for the revision of the previous knowledge and adapting studying. However, it is clear that they are annoyed with the weekly conducted practices.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of ExcelTUTOR drill software on achievement of students, which was design as computer based intelligent tutoring system, developed by the researcher. In this study, pretest-post test with control group, which is one of the experimental research designs, was used. The experimental and control groups of the study were composed of 20 students for each group, totally 40 students who went to Gazi University, Kırşehir Faculty of Education, Social Sciences Teaching Program in 2004-2005 term and they attended " Using Computer in Social Sciences " selective course. Experimental and control group students were chosen randomly. To collect the data, two tests were developed by the researcher. One of the tests was named pre-test and the other was called as post-test. Both of which included 25 multiple choice questions. While testing the hypotheses, one way variance analysis and covariance were used. The analysis was done at 0.05 significance level. As a result, ExcelTUTOR drill software design as computer based intelligent tutoring system was found contributing to learning.

Within this focus, firstly, concept of digital storytelling was theoretically addressed; researches made in learning-teaching for use have been presented; later, self-regulated learning processes and strategies have been defined and given examples. Finally, research findings on the use of digital stories as self-regulated learning tools have been shared.

It is a descriptive study aiming to reveal an existing situation. The study sample consists of 267 pre-service teachers studying in the Faculty of Education at Ahi Evran University. The study data were collected by using a personal information questionnaire, a perceived Internet self-efficacy scale, and an instrument to assess the level of Internet use for research. The results of the study demonstrated that there is a significant and moderate relationship between the pre-service teachers’ perceived Internet self-efficacy and levels of Internet use for research, and that perceived Internet self-efficacy differed in terms of the variables examined.

In data analysis the condition was tried to be displayed by observing the students’ mean grades. According to the findings, students’ preferred learning situations differentiates regarding to the computer technique that was to be learned and to the department in which they study.
