NLS Logo

The National Library Service (NLS) for the Blind and Print Disabled is a free braille and talking book library service for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical, perceptual, or reading disability that prevents them from using regular print materials. Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS circulates books and magazines in braille or audio formats, that are instantly downloadable to a personal device or delivered by mail free of charge.

NLS supports braille education and publishes an extensive directory of accessible reading materials in braille. NLS actually owns its own playback equipment free of charge to use with talking books and magazines as well as braille eReaders. At every reading level, the NLS supports nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, schools for the blind and other eligible students, patients or clients.

BARD

The Braille and Audio Reading Download online service has a variety of audio and braille titles to easily download. These can be downloaded directly to a computer or mobile device using the BARD app.
