PITTSBURGH, PA - Prepare for more bike lanes throughout Pittsburgh. City officials have unveiled a draft Bike (+) Master Plan that would create a connected network of on-and off-street components that would enable people to travel safely throughout the city via bicycles and other non-vehicular transportation methods.

The city is seeking public comment on the plan and will hold a series of open houses over the next month for people to view it.

The plan includes an interconnected street, lane and trail network, facility design guidelines, supportive policies, education and other programs related to non-vehicular travel. City officials hope it will reduce both vehicular traffic and emissions once implemented.
