Welcome to Pixel Glade

pixelglade he/him

Hi there! I'm a pixel artist and illustrator in Brisbane, Australia. I designed Pixel Glade inspired by sites from the late 1990's, but with accessibility and modern web standards in mind.

If you're interested in a commission or just want to say hello, you can contact me at admin@pixelglade.net.

Cyberteam in Akihabara Study

I've been familiarising myself with Krita more, as I'm using Linux to do more and more of my artwork. Here is my first anime background study made entirely in Krita.

A scene outside behind a school. A sandy clearing in the foreground with a tree, some scrubs and woods in the background and a blue sky with clouds.

It's from the anime Cyberteam in Akihabara (1998) which is probably one of the most 90s-looking anime I know.

I love how the backgrounds didn't use much more than some basic solid and air brushes, even with its imperfections you can tell a human made it. The colours are vibrant, and the composition is simple yet effective.

Didn't have a huge amount of fun with the trees in the background this time but I think the rest looks okay.

I found out from my landlord that I need to move out because of renovations so I'm going to be busier than usual over the coming weeks looking for a new place.
