With MANET, need of communication in that area can be serviced. For communicating with internet, the Manet must be connected with nearest telecommunication infrastructure via Gateway. For implementing this, needed a routing protocol, such as AODV+. This protocol is modification from AODV that was originally designed for only routing packets within a MANET and not between a MANET and a wired network. For measuring performance can used three Performance Metrics as The packet delivery ratio, The end-to-end delay, and The overhead.

An important aspect of multimedia systems is the integration of elements retrieved from databases distributed across a network. Integration of object components requires consideration of the temporal characteristics of multimedia elements.

The key functional separations that have to be met in any INA-consistent network, the major components of an INA-consistent network, and the various levels in the architecture are described. The INA architecture is compared to other networking and distributed-processing architecture

A multi-cluster, multi-hop packet radio network architecture for wireless adaptive mobile informa... more A multi-cluster, multi-hop packet radio network architecture for wireless adaptive mobile information systems is presented. The proposed network supports multimedia traffic and relies on both time division and code division access schemes. This radio network is not supported by a wired infrastructure as conventional cellular systems are. Thus, it can be instantly deployed in areas with no infrastructure at all. By using a distributed clustering algorithm, nodes are organized into clusters. The clusterheads act as local coordinators to resolve channel scheduling, perform power measurement/control, maintain time division frame synchronization, and enhance the spatial reuse of time slots and codes. Moreover, to guarantee bandwidth for real time traffic, the architecture supports virtual circuits and allocates bandwidth to circuits at call setup time. The network is scalable to large numbers of nodes, and can handle mobility. Simulation experiments evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme in static and mobile environments.

In this presentation, the audience will learn about the ability of the various networking technologies to carry multimedia traffic. The inability of legacy networks to carry multimedia traffic will be discussed, followed by a description of multimedia networks. LAN technologies such as Switched Ethernet, Isochronous Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, 100GAnyLAN, FDDI-II, and Synchoronous FDDI will be presented. Digital leased lines, ISDN and other WAN options for multimedia networking will also be described. Multimedia networking over the Internet will be discussed. Fundamentals of the ATM technology and its application to multimedia information networking will be presented.
