Giuseppe Mastronardi, graduated in Informatics Sciences in 1976 at the University of Bari, was a CNR Scholarship in 1976, Assistant in charge since 1977, Researcher since 1982, Associate Professor since 1993 and Full Professor of Information Processing Systems from 2003 to 2017 at the Polytechnic of Bari where he taught Fundamentals of Computer Science, Electronic Calculators, Medical Informatics and Data Security. He is currently a contract professor of Information Systems Security and Privacy. He is co-author of three patents and some didactic texts in the field of information technologies and has published over 180 scientific papers, many in international journals, on the analysis and processing of signals and images for medicine, industry and security, dealing in the last period in particular with biometric techniques, digital forensics and computer ethics. He was refery for several publications and conferences. He represented the Polytechnic of Bari in some CTS of National Research Centers and was scientific responsible for several research projects financed by FESR funds. In the years 2004 and 2018 he was President of the State Examination Commission for the qualification to exercise the profession of engineer. For over 40 years he has contributed to the training of young engineers in the design of IT solutions and technologies, acquiring adequate professional skills and job opportunities in numerous local, national and foreign companies, following over 300 degree theses. He is currently a member of the Scientific Committee of IT Series of Franco Angeli Ed. and of Mondo Digitale (official magazine of AICA of which he was President from 2016 to 2018). Research Interests: Biometrics, Authentication, Digital Forensics, Privacy.
