Bahkan, ada pula yang mengcosplaykan tokoh manusia seperti Sandiaga Uno dan Indro Warkop DKI. Sesuatu yang tidak lazim ditemukan dalam cosplay di Jepang. Japan itself held the first fashion show for Muslim women in 2016. In line with hijab fashion progress, in the cosplay world also has the same phenomenon in several years back which known as Hijab cosplay. The problem is, whether hijab cosplay can evolve into a part of hijab fashion industry. The study was conducted with in-depth interviews and observation in informants’ social media accounts; Facebook and Instagram. The result showed that hijab cosplay industry is still a household industry. Generally, has not become the main source of income and consider as a freelance job. Some major works such as Doraemon, Sailormoon and Dragon Ball get a special place not only in Indonesian society but also in the world. A few years back, emerged Islamic community that uses manga as a medium of da'wah (preaching of Islam) called Islamic manga. Some of them are Islamic Mangaka Indonesia (IMI) and Muslim Manga. These communities use manga to create a more accurate and positive image of Islam. This is interesting because there are some opinions in Islam about the law of drawing, some prohibit and the other allow depends on requirement such as not drawing a living creature and for education purposes. The problem is the provisions in making Islamic mangaaccording to IMI and Muslim Manga. The research was done with interview and observation through IMI and Muslim Manga's social media accounts; Facebook, Instagram, DeviantArt and website. The result showed that there are specific provisions in making Islamic manga such as (i) no pornographic, (ii) do not show awrah (body parts that are not allowed to show in Islam), (iii) characters can be a role model for those who read and (iv) the story has Islamic values that bring the readers to goodness and positivity.

The FTV received criticism for its depiction of K-Pop fans which was considered excessive and incorrect. The study examines how Indonesian-made FTV represents K-Pop fans in the FTV. This article discusses Korean drama (K-Drama) consumption as cinematherapy during the early perio... more This article discusses Korean drama (K-Drama) consumption as cinematherapy during the early period of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In cinematherapy, videos and films are considered capable of providing therapeutic and healing effects to provide a stimulus for the audience. The cinematherapy concept was introduced by Linda Berg-Cross, Pamela Jennings, and Rhoda Baruch in 1990. The problem is, in the popularity of K-Wave, can K-Drama become cinematherapy for Indonesian audiences, especially during times of crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic? The study uses the qualitative method with online in-depth interviews and literature study. The results showed that K-Drama has the potency to be a cinematherapy for female informants because it releases stress, tension, and anxiety due to the pandemic. However, K-Drama is just entertainment for male informants since they do not watch it very often compared to female informants. Another interesting finding is that female informants favored the thriller because it provides a sensation of tension and adrenaline rush to relieve anxiety from the burdens of life during the pandemic. K-Drama is a pleasant activity to kill time during quarantine and social restrictions. The practical implication of this study is how K-Drama can be a cinematherapy for audiences to reduce tension during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. K-Drama can be an educational, training, and mental health tool for further research.

The question is, how does the Sailor Moon influence Indonesian girls in the 90s, so its popularity still lasts today? Generation Z was born when the internet is available, a contrast to Generation Y who is still experiencing the transition of the internet. Being a wife and mother are two words that become the ultimate weapon to label women and their ro... more Being a wife and mother are two words that become the ultimate weapon to label women and their role in Indonesia. A woman's life will be considered perfect if she is married and has children. If a woman has achieved all that, she will be questioned if she still wants something else. This study will discuss the gender gap in chasing dream and aspiration between woman and man that portrayed in the Indonesian film Ali & Ratu-Ratu Queens (2021). This study uses a multimodal discourse analysis method, an approach that looks at multiple modes of communication such as text, colour, images, and interaction with one another to create semiotic meaning. The result showed that, even though both Mia (female character) and Ali (male symbol) went to the United States to pursue the American Dream, but it was easier for Ali to conquer his aspiration. Meanwhile, the complexity raised when Mia willing to chase her dream. As a married woman with child, Mia was faced with a choice between family or plan. Meanwhile, Ali tends to have the privilege to leave his family without stigma. Social message that showed in the film is, a part of woman's social identity of being a wife and mother, she still has personal identity (self) to embrace.

For instance, Ustad Marzuki Imron is known as Ustadz Naruto. On various occasions, he has cosplayed Naruto when preaching at the mosque. His actions have attracted attention, which has encouraged many people to attend Islamic lectures. At present, the old-fashioned style of dawah, which is traditionally delivered at mosques and formal institutions, does not have sufficient appeal to attract youth. To adapt to the modern era, dawah’s style has undergone several adjustments. Consequently, it has begun to penetrate informal communication media, including social media and pop culture products such as animation and cosplay.

Bibirnya kemudian sobek sepanjang satu sentimeter dan perlu dijahit. Several phenomena occurred such as, Crossdress (male cosplaying female character, vice versa) which was started in 2004 to 2009, Indocosu (cosplaying Indonesian manga and anime characters) in 2009 to 2010 and Hijab Cosplay (hijabi cosplaying character without releasing the hijab) in 2011-2012 until present. The latter phenomenon actually is not only happened in Indonesia, but also in Muslim majority countries such as Malaysia and Middle East.
