Many young people and youth organizations are framing a mindset to their members about openness to entrepreneurship, innovation, on the business environment. While these youngsters are learning and making efforts to collaborate with similar structures from the EU, most of the companies in Romania are not paying much attention to them. The number of youth organizations had an increased trend in recent years, more and more youngsters acting and interacting with the business environment. Entrepreneurship playing an important role in the changes in the business environment. Some organizational changes are happening within the business environment at the EU level, echoing also in Romania. The level of interest in innovation and entrepreneurship is high for youngsters forming non-governmental organizations, eager to create hubs of knowledge using EU-funded grants. The impo...

The roadmap by UNESCO is the path to follow to reach success. The approach is different for every HEI, thus the objective of this paper is to analyze the current state of education for sustainable development activities provided by HEIs through the eyes of the academic community (responders category: professors, researchers, associate professors). The method to conduct the study was an interview that had 40 enclosed questions and a free part at the end where the responders could bring additional information to the study if they considered it necessary. All the interviews were transcribed and given a code (e.g., RHEI1, RHEI 29) in order to perform the analysis using descriptive statistics with the help of the program MS Office EXCEL. The results showed some areas where the activities provided by HEIs need improvement and also revealed promising aspects through partnershi...

Concentrations of fluoride less than 1.0 mg/L in ingested water are beneficial for the rate of tooth decay, especially in children. The aims of the paper are as follows: (i) to monitor fluoride concentrations in drinking water samples (well water and tap water from the rural district of Valea Râmnicului, Romania); (ii) to study and select the optimal buffer solution and the optimal volume used in the analyses and (iii) to validate the potentiometric method for determining fluoride ions with a selective ion electrode. The values of fluoride ion concentrations in the groundwater samples and in tap water varied from 0.01 to 0.138 mg/L. The values for the hazard quotient for the studied samples varied from 0.01 to 0.13.

As result, they used to ask a certain percent from the gold quantity that people wanted to transform in coins (call brassage). Despite the fact that we are living modern times, this still happens. The governments didn’t give up to this important source of revenues; they only developed more sophisticated methods in order to increase their budget revenues. The aim of this paper (article) is to analyze these specific methods, to see how they work and to analyze the effects as well.

The aim of this article is to compute a general index showing the quality of life perceived by professor and students together, to identify the aspects that need improvement the most, and to suggest ideas to make those changes. Our analysis is based on the results obtained from self-administered questionnaires, and also, on a problem detection study (PDS) approach in order to rank the most important problems found. The results show there is a medium level of satisfaction regarding the quality of life in the UPB campus. Room space, urban furniture, recreational options, insufficient promotion of ERASMUS programs, and the decision making process are some of the most important aspects that need...

It has an inverse U shape which shows that pollution increases initially as a country develops its industry and thereafter declines after reaching a certain level of economic development. This paper tries to offer a critical description of the Environmental Kuznets Curve, to identify what kind of good is the environmental quality and to see if the data available from Romania verify the relationship between environmental quality and income per capita.

The residents’ moral and intellectual features are the main differences between the two spaces. Studies on job burnout suggest that the work environment, life and work satisfaction have a great influence on the quality of work performed. As the quality of education offered in University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB) is extremely important, this article aims to assess the quality of life in campus as it is perceived by professors in the University; we also intend to identify the aspects that can be improved, in order to obtain even better results regarding teaching and research activity. The study was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire, which was sent to UPB professors via email. We analyze their answers and discuss the results obtained. As a conclusion we calculate the Quality of Life Index for Professors IQoLP, and detect the issues that need to be addressed, as they have a negative influenc...

People inside the system and the whole Romanian society have realized the importance of providing sustainable services in order to improve the performance indicators in the long run, for the benefit of both employees and patients. As we acknowledge that in developing countries the lack of skilled human resource both in respect to quantity and quality is a major problem, the paper constructs an composite index of sustainability to audit the human resources in the health care system from the perspective of quantity and efficiency in order to improve the access to health services and to ameliorate the quality and safety of medical act. Within the paper, the authors perform an objective audit of human resources emphasizing that a sustainable medical system not only supports expenditures, but also improves quality in the long run. Besides, we consider that sustainable strategy for retaini...

The analysis of pollution control involves a permanent comparison between pollution costs and the costs associated with various methods of pollution reduction. An environmental policy based on economic instruments is more effective than an environmental policy focused on command and control tools. In this respect, the present paper provides a case study showing how anthropogenic factors such as wastewater, industrial, agricultural, and natural factors are able to change the physical and chemical parameters of groundwater in the study area, thus endangering their quality. In order to monitor the groundwater quality in the region of Dobrudja, an analysis of physico-chemical parameters was performed. The content of heavy metals was analyzed and the health risk index was taken into accoun...
