Las instituciones educativas están pasando de la «transmisión de conocimientos» a la «construcció... more Las instituciones educativas están pasando de la «transmisión de conocimientos» a la «construcción de conocimientos»; de una educación centrada en la actuación del profesor, a una información enfocada en el aprendizaje del alumno. Es un cambio en la epistemología y en lo que se considera como conocimiento y cómo este se adquiere. Desde este enfoque se plantea que una «comunidad de aprendizaje» infunde una «cultura de aprendizaje», donde el aprendizaje y la creatividad son apoyados y estimulados a través de estrategias que ayudan a los que aprenden a establecer metas posibles y a regular el propio comportamiento para lograr esas metas. Sin embargo, construir una cultura de aprendizaje no es fácil y por esto existe un creciente movimiento para desarrollar modelos apropiados y útiles para diseñar «ambientes o escenarios de aprendizaje» adecuados para facilitar que las personas desarrollen sus peculiares estilos de aprendizaje. The article points how the knowledge society provides an opportunity to review the orientation an... more The article points how the knowledge society provides an opportunity to review the orientation and strategy of teaching methods in academia. It puts forward that "it is not only a matter of being leaders in the generation of new knowledge, scientific and technological production, transference of knowledge and innovation", but also that we need university to be the "critical consciousness of society, a hub for reflection, analysis and prospective about the evolution of society itself". Thus, it meditates on the goal of university and argues that it must focus its ability to transform the learning process on developing competences in students, not specifically for the labor market, but rather to achieve the students' full development as well as peace, social well-being and prevent inequity.

Se trata de un trabajo que recoge la opinion de profesores chilenos, sobre la autoevaluacion que ... more Se trata de un trabajo que recoge la opinion de profesores chilenos, sobre la autoevaluacion que realizan docentes municipales sometidos al programa nacional de evaluacion docente. Los resultados de dicho programa revelan que en el quinquenio 2007-2011, existe una marcada diferencia en los promedios nacionales obtenidos en la autoevaluacion que se asignan los docentes (3,9 sobre 4), con las ocho dimensiones que evalua el portafolio, donde su promedio no alcanza el minimo de aprobacion (2,5 sobre 4). Se aplico una entrevista semiestructurada a 38 profesores pertenecientes a establecimientos particulares subvencionados (los que no tienen obligacion alguna de participar del programa nacional de evaluacion).
