The study examined broadcast media campaigns on the Ebola virus disease in Nigeria. It adopted the Agenda-selling theory and Health Belief Model as its theoretical frameworks. Us ing the survey method, the study collated responsesfrom 300 respondents in the South-South and SouthEast of Nigeria. The questionnaire was used for data collection. Results from findings revealed that although the broadcast campaign on the EVD created adequate awareness about the disease, not all strata of society were accommodated in th e campaign, especially rural dwellers. The researchers concluded that the framing of the EVD by the broadcast media was that of heightened apprehension, panic and discomfiture among audience member. It was, however, recommended among others that more science beat journalists be trained to give room for coherent and understandable stories in languages that will be all embracing.

Peace Ireju Amannah & Josephine Osatohanmwen Adeyeye The study examined public perception of anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari. The study was anchored on the self-perception theory propounded by Daryl Bem in 1972. Survey method was used for the study. The pop1,1lation of this study focused on respondents from South-South states of the country, which was projected in 2017 to be 39, 615 228. Using Australian Calculator, the researchers arrived at a sample size of 385. The sampling procedures that was used in this study were cluster, non-proportionate and purposive sampling techniques. Questionnaire was used as instrument of data collection. Findings revealed that over 80% of the respondents were aware of the anti-corruption war of President Buhari. It was also revealed that 60% of the respondents in South-South states were knowledgeable about the anti-corruption crusade of President Buhari. Findings further revealed that 55.7% of the respond~nts in South-South states were of the perc~>ption that the anti-corruption crusade of President Buhari is not satisfactory. It is recommended that government should be more objective, open minded, transparent and proactive in the anti-corruption crusade as a way of winning the sympathy of the people.

The purpose of this work was to evaluate the relationship between the Freedom oflnformationAct and media practice in Nigeria with regard to of a possible enhancement of the desired access to more information, the leverage to practice, and improvement in professional responsibility. To accomplish the survey research, 285 copies of a questionnaire were administered to randomly selected joumalists in Port Harcourt metropolis. Interviews were also conducted to complement the survey approach. Simple percentages and frequency distribution tables were used for data analysis. The findings were that the FOIA has the potency to engender effective media practice as it can only function effectively when anti-press Jaws arc either expunged or amended. The study concluded that FOIA is a catalyst to freedom with responsibility and good governance, faimcss, accuracy, balance and objectivity. It recommended that journalists should go beyond just being aware of the passage into law of the FO!A to acquainting thcmsclvcs·ofrclcvant provisions of the Act so as to maximi ze the opportunities therein for effective media practice in Nigeria.

National security is a prevalent issue both in national and international discourses. It is a critical issue that affects Nigeria today which has crippled the socioeconomic cum political spheres of the nation. This paper explores explicitly the place of the mass media in the social system in creating awareness, enlightenment and at the same time in protecting the lives, rights and properties of the people. The law which is the grundnorm takes this Herculean task in making sure that the mass media do not cause social dysfunction but rather help in building and enhancing national development and security of lives and properties at all levels.

This study examined President Goodluck Jonathan's agricultural policies and activities from 2011 to 2014. Framing theory constituted the .framework of the study. Using content analysis and four selected national dailies, the study sampled 288 editions of the newspaper. Code sheet was the instrument used in collecting data, with a high inter-coder reliability of 0.8. The study found that 23.3% of news stories and articles were on agricultural projects; and that 77.9% of the stories on agriculture werefavourable to the policies and projects of President Good luck Jonathan. It was concluded that newspaper coverage of President Goodluck Jonathan's agricultural transformation programmes were not significantly high, compared to the reportage of other issues like Boko-Haram, which had 67.8% coverage. It was recommended that th e media should pay more attention to the coverage of agricultural issues to help facilitate th e desire of the government to reduce the over dependency on oil.

The paper contends that OCB is essential in fostering journalists' productivity. Again, the discourse submission is that societies and organizations stand to gain the most when they provide the needed conducive atmosphere for journalism practice to thrive. It therefore argued that, the quality ofjournalism practice in any clime is that which that society permits.
