Arab scholars are concerned by the fact that the globalization process leads to the dominance of some languages and the weakening of others (BBC News 2017; Grajek 2017; Matia 2016). Thus, Dr. As-Siddiq, Director of the Sudanese Institute of the Arabic Language named after Abdalla Eltayeb, believes that today in the Arab world there is a problem of the Arabization of scientific works. Research findings are presented not in Arabic, which means Arabic should become the language of science, knowledge and scientific development (BBC News 2017). This statement is aligned with the main objectives, for the solution to which the International Conference of Arabic Language is annually convened in Dubai. The main document of the conference states that it is necessary to conduct scientific research in Arabic and on Arabic, to encourage communication between scientists, specialists and researchers in Arabic. There is particularly noted the need to promote the use of the Arabic language in all spheres of life of Arab countries’ citizens, to introduce it into the administrative sphere, education, labor market and media (International Conference of Arabic Language 2012). In the final statement of the latest Eighth conference (the Ninth conference was announced for April 2020, but it did not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic), the relevance of all the previously outlined goals of the conference is noted. The need to strengthen the positions of the Arabic language as the most important means of unity, cohesion and strength of the Arab nation, its identity is emphasized (Final Report of the Eighth International Conference of Arabic Language 2019).

It deals with the functions of imagery in the Bible itself (e. g. nominative, illustrative, descriptive, emotive, emphatic, expressive, explaining, veiling, cognitive, reminiscent, cohesive, integrative, symbolic etc.), as well as the functional peculiarities of biblical images in Shakespeare’s tragedies, comedies and problem plays, where besides the allusive and illustrative functions they also form connotations, subtext, sometimes - the plot and the main ideas. Specifically emphasized is the modeling function of biblical imagery in the consequent texts, where the images from the Bible serve as a model for imagery coinage. The article also covers the role of biblical imagery in creating ambiguity, along with the major situations and motives generating imagery.

It concerns the difficulties of teaching Arabic script to Russian first-year students (the initial stage of training), the problem of training script skills. The relevance and seriousness of the stated topic is compounded by the fact that these problems are experienced by first-year students who have finished high school and successfully passed the final exams in the Russian (native) and foreign (usually English) languages, and, therefore, have already mastered two graphic systems based on Cyrillic and Latin. The main goals and objectives of the study are to adequately describe the frequency errors, to determine their nature and possible causes, as well as to try to identify possible ways to overcome these difficulties. In accordance with the goals and objectives for identifying and describing script errors, there were used such general scientific methods as generalization, abstraction, formalization, analysis and synthesis. From the total set of students' script errors collected by teachers over the past 5 years, through the purposive sampling method there were selected the most demonstrable cases of errors for further in-depth and multilateral study. As a result of the work, all students' script errors were systematized and divided into the following subgroups:-writing letters in violation of the rules of a particular handwriting,-violations of writing letters of the same type,-adding extra connecting elements required from students' point of view. According to the authors, these errors are usually caused by the mixing of letters in reading and writing by visual similarity, mixing of phonemes by acoustic-articulatory similarity (which in turn is caused by the violation of phonemic perception), insufficient formedness of pronunciation skills (more than half of the consonant sounds of the Arabic language are missing in the Indo-European languages). The further analysis of the systematized errors based on the research materials of Russian and foreign specialists allowed assuming possible causes of problems in the field of formation of students' script skills. The work has shown that overcoming the difficulties in the formation of script skills is possible through the development of special types of exercises aimed at improving phonemic hearing and aural-oral skills, as well as students' spatial perception of the letters image. The conclusions made in the work are of great practical importance, since the quality of the formedness of script skills directly affects the further training of students' competent command of the Arabic language.
