Multiculturalism and globalisation in the language education world system, Jul 2, 2018
Multiculturalism largely determines the geopolitical picture of the modern globalised world. It i... more Multiculturalism largely determines the geopolitical picture of the modern globalised world. It is known that globalisation is inherently global political, economic, religious and cultural integration and unification. Because of the simplification of movement around the world, due to the opening of the borders of almost all countries, the development of technologies, and in particular of the Internet, people got the opportunity to acquaint people from other countries with their own and original cultures. The paper provides the clear and thorough description of the positive experience of multiculturalism in the form of a model of integration without assimilation. It gives a detailed analysis of the key factors determining the modeling of the learning process in teaching foreign languages on a bilingual basis in the USA and Europe. The problems of migration and language are a complex phenomenon affecting the interests of millions of people around the world. A person who finds himself /herself in a new society must adapt to the peculiarities of the functioning of a given society, to adopt his laws and rules, and to correct social roles. In one way or another, migration is always stress, and the process of social adaptation is directly related to the adjustment of linguistic, psychological and psycholinguistics. The migrant must penetrate not only into the social and economic life of society but also in his cultural and linguistic part. And the main thing is not to lose your native language, your national identity. In the created multicultural conditions of intercultural interaction at the present stage, the model of bilingual training becomes more widespread. Traditionally, bilingual education means the organization of the educational process, when it becomes possible to use more than one language as a language of instruction (for example, the language of a Turkish minority in Austria or German as a foreign language in Russia). The paper also reviewed the language education world system in the context of globalization, cultural contacts, and migration of the population. It discusses bilingual programmes and measures to be taken to improve the educational process in educational institutions. It is important to note that specialists group bilingual foreign language teaching programs according to different models: the enrichment program, the transition program, and the language preservation program. The value and the whole meaning of bilingual models of training immigrants and national minorities (in the form of transitional programs and language preservation programs) depend on very sophisticated sociolinguistic conditions, which in turn determine the significance of the corresponding language in society. The research data allowed the authors to come to some conclusions. One of them is the functioning of multicultural models of language education testifies to positive bilingualism and multilingualism, which has a beneficial effect on the development of the individual while preserving its linguistic and cultural identity.

Of recent interest in these problems has been the theory and methodology of teaching foreign languages. Third-generation Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Education, aimed at modernizing the system of language education in Russia, towards qualitative changes in the preparation of graduates, orient the process of foreign language education in a modern Russian university towards compliance with established international levels, the standards adopted in the European higher education, and educational programs meeting the requirements of the Council of Europe. The development of foreign language communicative competence today means not only mastering a set of certain knowledge, skills, and abilities, but also forming a full readiness of students, primarily students of linguistic specialties, to communicate in various situations, to a comparative study of the mother tongue and the studied languages and cultures on the basis of interlanguage and intercultural integration; to understanding foreign cultural values and realities presented in the form of norms of verbal behavior and rules of communication.

It is necessary to use a variety of additional materials and programs for the full development of linguistic, grammatical and phonetic features for achieving an optimal level of English language proficiency. This article discusses the possibility of practical use of students' channel in a multifunctional Television Studio for teaching major interdisciplinary topics studied in the context of the development of the English language and English culture. Attracting students to create their television product with Internet communication is an excellent incentive to increase interest in the learning process. During the experiment conducted at the Institute of Foreign Languages (RUDN University), the potential of this program was revealed in two groups of the first and second courses. The best practices were used as a teaching aid at the initial stage of learning a foreign language and broadcast on the air of the far Eastern channel PRIM 24. This program helped students with interest to discover new aspects of the language and do their homework with great enthusiasm, which led to an increase in overall productivity and cohesion in the group. Hence it follows that the use of YouTube video hosting in a Multifunctional Television Studio is an advanced way of teaching a foreign language for academic purposes from Russian Humanitarian Universities.

International partnership on the design, operation and utilization of the International Space Station made it necessary to acquire the knowledge of the English language for most of the space industry specialists as approved by the international agreement. The English language proficiency directly affects the ability of cosmonauts, astronauts and other specialists from different cultural and linguistic communities to gain understanding in order to meet the mission goals and ensure required space flight safety. The article investigates specifics of formation of the professional English language communicative competence of Russian cosmonauts when preparing international crews for a joint space flight on board the station. The objective of this article is to identify ways for optimizing the methodological approach to organization of cosmonauts’ teaching process and the content of utilized materials. The objective is achieved through the development of a new teaching model, integration of information from various space mission-specific technical subjects and use of profession-oriented project-based learning. The teaching model is practically implemented by the electronic teaching and methodical complex developed on the basis of Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment educational platform using advanced information technologies. The newly developed complex is characterized by a high degree of functionality, professionally oriented content of the training texts, exercises, videos, glossary as well as targeted communicatively oriented project activities.

AI is integrated into the learning process. Thanks to using it, the needs of each Ph.D. student can be taken into consideration. Therefore, educators collect data about learners, their abilities, interests, projects, problems, and scientific researches.
The specialists consider this data about when creating chatbots. It is no secret thet at the third stage of higher education, post-graduate students should publish their results in scientific journals indexed in Web of Science or Scopus. Many questions arise.
