The authors focused on sport and recreational infrastructure and its influence on the motor activity of the youths. The results are not satisfactory because young people do not spend their free time as much as they should. The research also showed that there is a difference between sport and recreational base in the mentioned above areas and consequently it has a significant impact on choosing various forms of spending free time by those polled.

Additional research questions were formulated to thoroughly examine the topic under study. Was low back pain reported by study participants before and during pregnancy? Did women who were physically active and those who were inactive during pregnancy experience low back pain? Did pain intensity depend on physical activity? The study examined 118 women aged 23 to 42 years. The mean age of the participants was 25.57 ± 3.46 years. In terms of demographics, one-third of the participants lived in rural areas and twothirds lived in urban areas. Most of the women (72.9%) had higher education and 75.4% of them were employed. Due to civilization’s development, we can observe a global decline in physical activity which negatively affects the state of physical and mental health. The physical activity of children and adolescents is a counterpart to their physical fitness. There is also more frequent spending of free time in a passive way rather than actively. The aim of the study was to determine whether there are differences in the physical fitness of young people who rest passively in relation to those who rest actively. In addition, it was checked whether factors, such as age, weight, body height and BMI differentiate the level of fitness in adolescents. Study group: 25 boys and 25 girls declaring active leisure activities. Control group: 25 boys and 25 girls declaring passive leisure activities. Age of the respondents ranged from 11 to 15 years (Me = 13; SD = 1.23). The research used: ...

The aims of this study were to: (1) to assess the level of PA and meeting the WHO recommendations: moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and the number of steps in Polish preschool boys and girls on weekdays and on weekends; (2) to investigate the relationship between selected socioeconomic indicators (self-reported by parents) and PA, including meeting the WHO recommendation for daily MVPA and the number of steps on weekdays and on weekends among Polish preschoolers. Data were collected in the 2017/2018 school year. The study included a total of 522 boys and girls both aged between 5 and 6 years. The ActiGraph GT3X-BT tri-axial accelerometer was used to measure PA. Selected socioeconomic indicators as well as parental body weight and body height were self-reported by parents/caregivers usi...

The changes occurring during the course of pregnancy concern not only the development of the fetus itself but mainly the adaptation of the woman's body to motherhood. The aim of the study is to evaluate physical activity and its effect on the prevalence of low back pain. The research questions were formulated to thoroughly examine the topic under study. Was low back pain reported by study participants before and during pregnancy? Did women who were physically active and those who were inactive during pregnancy experience low back pain? Ninety-seven women were married. The interview was based on an anonymous questionnaire with 30 questions and the visual analog scale (VAS). Results: For 72% of women, pregnancy is accompanied by low back pain (p<0.001). They viewed physical activity as a method of pain management rather than prevention of back pain (p=0.010). Therefore, they undertook various forms of physical activity to relieve pain. This is one of the main motivations for taking up physical exercise during pregnancy. Conclusion: The benefits of physical activity most commonly emphasized by pregnant women include a faster return to their pre-pregnancy slimness, easier delivery, reduced back pain, and improved mood.

There is a need for further studies to evaluate the types of dairy products in relation to the risk of obesity in pediatric population. The aim of the study was to determine the associations between the frequency of consumption of different types of dairy products and body composition and excess adiposity in preschool children from Poland. A cross-sectional study of 1172 children aged 5–6 years was conducted using a bioelectrical impedance analysis for body composition estimation and a modified food frequency questionnaire (FFQ-6) to assess the habitual diets of the participants. Among the analyzed dairy products, milk was consumed most often, followed by fruit yoghurts, yellow cheese, and cottage cheese, and natural yoghurt was the least common. Participants that consumed fruit or natural yoghurt more frequently had higher adipose tissue content. The logistic regression analysis by the method of forward sel...
