Miklós Biró is Key Researcher at Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH) and Senior Researcher at Johannes Kepler University Linz. He is a Professor, Doctor Habilitatus with software engineering, university teaching, research, and management experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics (Loránd Eötvös University/Budapest), and a Master of Science in Management (Purdue University/USA). He has initiating and managing role in numerous European projects. He is author of Hungarian and English language books and publications. He serves as founding president of the professional division for Software Quality Management of the John von Neumann Computer Society, Hungarian national representative in IFIP TC-2 Software: Theory and Practice, representative of Upper Austrian Research and SCCH in the EARTO Security
This paper identifies the forces affecting offshore software development based on a knowledge man... more This paper identifies the forces affecting offshore software development based on a knowledge management perspective. The identified four major forces act along the dimensions of finance, individual education, organizational maturity, and culture. The analysis is validated on cases of European offshoring practice exhibited in the database of the EuroSPI (European Software Process Improvement) series of conferences.
