SENtastic Leader Program
About
The SENtastic Leader Program is a unique mentorship initiative at HKUST dedicated to commitment to equity, building a welcoming, inclusive and mutually supportive environment for students with diverse abilities and backgrounds since 2021.
Apart from fostering meaningful connections within our diverse community, the SENtastic Leaders serve as representatives and advocates, driving impactful initiatives that transform our campus into a truly inclusive space and highlighting everyone’s unique strengths.
Vision
The program envisions a campus where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential, regardless of their abilities and backgrounds.
Mission
Grounded in 3 key elements: “Self-exploration,” “Empowerment,” and “Networking”, the program targets the following:
1. Provide mentorship and support to students with diverse abilities and backgrounds, fostering peer support networks.
2. Generate collaborative ideas on bridging the SEN community and lead engaging events to promote SEN awareness, campus inclusion, and appreciation for diverse abilities.
3. Build bridges between students with and without diverse abilities, nurturing a culture of empathy, acceptance, and respect and strengthening community bonds.
Benefits
