The study uses the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology-2 and the five-factor model to investigate personality’s influence on Gen-Z’s DLS adoption intention. Design/methodology/approach The study is a descriptive causal investigation based on primary data collected through a self-administered survey using pre-validated tools. The study uses structural equation modeling to investigate personality dimensions’ direct and moderating effect on the dependent, independent variables and their relation. Findings The study results indicate that personality has no significant influence on Gen-Z’s DLS adoption, suggesting the ubiquity and inevitability of technology in current times. Also, only performance expectancy had a considerable impact on DLS adoption among Gen-Z going to college – a deviation from past studies where multiple i...

This is a descriptive-analytical survey, and researcher-made questionnaire was used for data collection with reliability of 0.92 based on Cronbach Alpha. The statistical population included librarians of 7 special libraries of Ahvaz city, Iran, out of which 53 responded to the questionnaire. Data analysis was done using SPSS and descriptive and statistical statistics. The results indicate that according to librarians' viewpoint, from hygiene or extrinsic factors of job motivation, three components of qualified supervisor, proper management of affairs and desirable working condition, and from intrinsic or subjective factors, three components of success, assignment of responsibilities, and sense of achievement are in the first to third ranks, respectively. If the collection is good and need based, libraries can attract more number of users and every book will find its user. If the collection is bad and not user-friendly then the libraries may not attract the users to the library. The problem is how to ascertain that the collection is good or bad. The answer is to conduct the performance evaluation of the library on a regular basis. Hence performance evaluation is one of the major concerns of library and information systems and it forms an integral part of Library and Information Science practitioners. This study is a survey of scientific and research institute libraries in Iran. In Iran there are sixty nine (63) scientific and research institutes affiliated to the Ministry of Science, Research & Technology (MSRT) Government of Iran. Of the 63 research institutes, only ten Institutes were selected for this study. The sample covered is 2390 and the responses received re 1550 scoring 64.85%.Some of the major findings are: nearly 44.90 percent of the respondents seek library staff’s assistance once in a month. The type of information services preferred is that ‘Content Page Service’ (mean=2.72). The overall satisfaction with library collection is with regard to the ‘Extent of Availability, of the collection is high (3.05). For the parameter, ‘Does the existing collection meet your requirements? , nearly 83.4% said ‘YES’, and 16.6 % of them said ‘NO’.

In September 2006, the national library began to adopt the format for all library material by using “RASA” software. The aim of establishing the national comprehensive system is to automate the working processes of the deputy for the national library and to store the records related to all library material based on universal standards. The comprehensive system of the national library is based on UNIMARC and IRANMARC. Currently NLAI has presented this format for all library material but the findings of recent researches on IRANMARC format indicated the established MARC format by the NLAI is not totally correct. This article suggests in order to have a homogeneous catalogue for all library material nationally, it is best to take a cautious and more accurate to change. The organization and of course more important than it RASA Committee could regulate wherever was necessary and give throughput to the experts at different levels.
