George Wein (October 3, 1925 – September 13, 2021) was an American jazz promoter, pianist, and producer.[1] He was the founder of the Newport Jazz Festival. He also co-founded the Newport Folk Festival with Peter Seeger and Theodore Bikel. He also founded the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Wein died on September 13, 2021 at his home in New York City at the age of 95.[2]
