Seleucus IV Philopator was the second son of Antiochus the Great and the seventh king of the Seleucid Empire.

[change | change source]According to the book of 2 Maccabees, Seleucus sent Heliodorus (minister) to Judea to tax the Second Temple of Jerusalem but Heliodorus was stopped by angels and came back to Syria empty-handed.
Death
[change | change source]Heliodorus killed Seleucus to take over the Empire but was defeated by Seleucus’s brother Antiochus IV.
