Tenor is a web engine for searching moving picture files in the GIF format. Tenor is managed by Google and for use with GIF keyboards on Android, iOS, and macOS.[1]

The business people David Macintosh, Erick Hachenburg, and Frank Nawabi started the company Riffsy first in February 2014. When the risk capital giver Redpoint Ventures invested, the company name was changed on August 9, 2016, to Tenor. On March 27, 2018, Tenor was bought by Google, but it still works under its own name.[2]
