Comprehension of the morphological and anatomical responses to such stress is essential for a holistic perception of plant resistance mechanisms to metal-excess conditions in higher plants. In the present study, the effects of heavy metals on morpho-anatomy of Catharanthus roseus based on its potential to tolerate metal stress has been studied in industrially polluted environments. The tissue samples of these plants grown in contaminated and uncontaminated soils were processed for analysis under Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Briefly, harvested tissues were pre-fixed using glutaraldehyde and paraformaldehyde in sodium cacodylate (CAC) buffer, followed by post fixation in osmium tetroxide. Further, the digital micrographs of critically dried samples were captured. The analysis of micrographs revealed structural changes like cell wall thickening, increased stele diam...

In this scenario, it is very important to study about drilling of holes perfectly with minimum delamination and cracks by considering the various machining parameters. Applying mathematical strategies is needed to completely analyze the machining process. This task intends to make experimentally analyze the machining properties for drilling of GFRP.

It is time for the entire scientific community across the globe to find a solution for this deadly and unseen enemy. In silico studies play a vital role in situations like this, as experimental studies are not feasible by all researchers particularly with relevance to BSL4 procedures. In this study, using the high resolution crystal structure of SARS-CoV-2 main protease (PDB: 5R82), we have identified molecules which can potentially inhibit the main protease (Mpro). We used a three-tier docking protocol making use of three different databases. We analysed the residues which are lying near the ligand binding pocket of the main protease structure and it shows a wide cavity, which can accommodate chemically diverse ligands, occupying different sub-pockets. Using the small fragment bound in the 5R82, we have identified several larger molecules whose functional groups ...

The recent supply chain disruptions and their costs emphasize the need for resilient supply chains. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate interactions between critical antecedents of supply chain resilience including risk management culture, supply chain connectivity, visibility, collaboration, agility, their impact on supply chain resilience, and finally on firm performance. Using the same antecedents and literature support, an empirical model has been proposed. The proposed model has been tested using rigorous statistical analysis such as reliability, convergent, and discriminant validity tests. Partial least squares-structural equation modelling has been used to validate the proposed model and the interdependencies between the critical antecedents. An important finding of this research is that organizations, using the proposed model, can develop and improve supply chain resilience capability by establishi...

Earlier studies and reports say that many organizations go out of businesses within two or three years after they experience a major disruption. Therefore, companies in today’s volatile business arena need to possess the necessary resilience level to combat supply china disruptions. This is even more important for organizations of developing nations, which are constantly struggling to gain the advantages of globalization and to grab the new opportunities. Thus, this paper aims to help organizations understand their SC resilience level through a framework. Design/methodology/approach The methodology comprises integrated Delphi – fuzzy logic approach in identifying formative elements of SC resilience from a diverse resilience related body of knowledge and distinguish key obstacles of SC resilience based on their performance level. Findings Findings reveal that SC flexibility components ...

The present work is to know the types of biomolecules present in it by GC MS analysis. Aswagandharishtam was procured from standard Ayurvedic outlet and was subjected to Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry after due processing. The GC MS analysis of Aswagandharishtam has shown some promising molecules like Prostaglandin A2, Cholesterol, Piperine, Gentamicin a, d-Mannose, Eugenol, Pipradrol among others, which have activities similar to that of Aswagadharistham. This is a preliminary report where some clue about the various types of biomolecules present in Aswagandharishtam was obtained. Further work is on to prove the efficacy of this medicine by other parameters.

Bibliometric analysis is a statistical concept that has recently evolved, enabling scientists to study citation patterns and identify characteristics of highly cited scholarly work in different fields. Although it has been widely utilized, such analyses have not been conducted to date on heart transplant literature. We sought to assess the characteristics of the top 100 most referenced citations in the field of heart transplantation. We searched the Scopus database (www.scopus.com) to identify all articles relating to heart transplantation. The articles were arranged in descending order from most cited to least cited and selected articles were scrutinized for data extraction. One hundred articles were included in the final list. Of the total 40,660 citations identified, 3,210 (8.0%) were self-citations, which impacted the final rank order. The articles were published in 25 different journals between 1960 and 2013. The most productive 5-year time period was between 2000 and 2005, when 24 of the 100 most cited publications were produced. There was no correlation between the journals' impact factors and the number of articles produced per journal. The presence and type of funding were not associated with the number of citations. Over 85% of first and senior investigators were men. In conclusion, our study highlights key features of the most highly cited scientific literature on heart transplantation and provides insights into trends of published work in this field. Additionally, this work may serve as a useful guide to researchers and funding bodies by highlighting the most prolific areas of cardiac transplant research to date.
