While I'm not typically drawn to the romance genre, I do love interactive books and "choose your own adventure" styles, so I thought I'd give this a try—especially since it was free. I say "free" in quotes because I quickly realized there are in-game purchases involved.

That said, I did enjoy the stories overall. I completed one season of a single story and a few episodes from others. It was fun at first, but for me, the cons eventually outweighed the positives. The choices you make didn’t feel impactful. Perhaps replaying the same scenario with different decisions would change that, but for now, the outcomes felt too similar. The romance lines were fairly typical—nothing groundbreaking—but still decent.

The diamond system was frustrating. While I understand using diamonds for key, dramatic moments, it felt excessive when small, inconsequential changes required a large number of them. And what’s the deal with the constant hair and wardrobe changes? Why can’t my character just keep the same hairstyle throughout, or only change it for special occasions? If I do have to change it, at least give me the option to explore all the styles in each hair color. I can’t imagine someone starting with short brown hair and coming back with long blonde hair. Eventually, I stopped changing anything and just went with the free options because I noticed no real difference.

The clothing choices were also a bit much. I was supposed to be in an isolated town with limited resources, yet somehow I found 20 different outfits. That didn’t make much sense.

Another feature that got on my nerves were the tea cups used to progress chapters. In the beginning, you get a few to hook you in, but then you have to wait for them to refresh. The refresh time changes—starting at one hour and eventually getting to three hours. These don’t stack either, or if they do, I never waited long enough to find out.

By the time I finished that season, I was done. It became clear there wasn’t really a conclusion—just a cliffhanger heading into the next season. I get that this is part of the business model, but if I’m going to spend money, I need a definite ending in sight. This is the same reason I stopped watching TV shows that dragged on with no resolution. If the stories were a bit longer and offered a solid ending, I’d be more invested. I wouldn’t mind a sequel, but I need closure first.

Lastly, since I know some of you like all the details, here are a couple of story-related issues I had: there were times I felt like the narrative skipped scenes. For instance, I’d ask a question, and suddenly the next panel had me somewhere else, with no answer to my question. Another time, I had a caption saying I wasn’t friendly with a character, which affected the outcome. But I’d only met the person once—how was I supposed to befriend them by then? Also, I completed all my stories without using any hints.

In summary, I enjoy the concept and the storylines, but I don’t feel like it’s worth investing money in. I’ll continue for a bit longer, but I expect my interest will fade soon.
