could not get into this, battle system felt even worse than FFXIII-2

This game is very unique. It doesn't feel like a normal JRPG let alone a Final Fantasy game. It can be good or bad depending what you are looking for.

- It has a Rouge Lite mechanics. No kidding. If you fail to do the 4 big main quests on time you will start over but keep your stats and gear. The mechanics can be used to get stronger obviously.
- it has 2 difficulties and normal is actually quite hard. Actual HARD mode unlocked later is brutal. So surprising for a FF game.
- it has perfect block/perfect parry mechanics. No kidding again. You must block in this game to stand a chance. If you block at the right moment you take no damage at all and rise stun bar on your enemy. It felt a bit like Sekiro in some cases when I had to learn some big bosses attack patterns and how to perfect block.

I really didn't like the game at first as I didn't understand the mechanics. Because of that the game felt way to difficult as well. Luckily, I've learnt the system, followed some YT guide and actually really enjoyed the game. It really grew on me and would probably put even more hours into it if I hadn't such a huge backlog of games.

The only bad side is performance that will affect everybody regardless of hardware. Very bad traversal stutters to be more specific.
