This paper examines Titian’s various Danae paintings and St. Mary Magdalen in Penitence in the light of the philosophic and theological views of Titian's own time, invoking Christian and Neo-platonic ideas of love, beauty, and personhood. The sensuality within Titian’s work had an important significance in his culture by placing in their bodies a representation of the nature of humanity.

The term "academic fashion" can refer to anything from a manner of speaking or writing, to a manner of dress that is considered suitable to the world of Academia. But whether clothing or language, the fashion sets the tone for the community. This paper explores the history of academics robes and their pertinence to modern academia.
