The Danish philosopher, considered the father of existentialism, has rethought and brought back some of the Christian categories such as imitation, freedom and faith into a broader context. Our contribution reflects on Kierkegaard’s idea of Christianity and God in order to understand the christian faith in relation to the life of «one’s own», especially starting from Fear and Trembling (1843). Keywords: Luther, Christianity, faith, freedom, paradox.

Searching for the Truth, the rationality of the Christianity, the sapiential task of theology represent the heart of his magisterial speeches. According to Italian philosopher Emanuele Severino, science and religion have a common origin and proceed towards a common destiny. In the modern age, the biblical category of "promise" has been transformed into that of "scientific progress". What does it mean to speak of freedom now? We are in the age of provviscience. This neologism shows the atheistic and nihilistic character of Western philosophy because it entrusts the fate of humanity to scientific and technological progress. For many philosophers (Y. N. Harari, Natoli, Galimberti) it no longer makes sense to speak of human will and divine providence because technology already represents the fulfilment of the ideal of redemption announced by Christianity. Going back to the reflection on the ontology of freedom proposed by the Italian philosopher Luigi Pareyson, we can reposition the question of freedom as a central in the West philosophy and we can give back the primacy of human-divine mystery of freedom over the scientific algorithm.

In this way the article shows the genealogy of Vattimo's thought strating from Pareyson, Schleiermacher and Bonhoeffer. The relationship between Heidegger and Christianity is studied strating from the recent publication of the Schwarze Hefte. According to Vattimo, the Christian religion has to do with the politics in Europe and with the fate of the West Philisophy. A secularized, hermeneutic and non-religious Christianity is the thesis of Vattimo as a chance for the religion in postmodernity, a theme very important for his "weak thought".

Technics consists in scientific progress which Western world gauges its strength and calculates its earnings. However Technics compares with the human fragility and the power of nature. Industry 4.0 marked the beginning of the new Millennium (post-technical age) and the new “Promethean conflict”. This essay traces back the origin of this scientific paradigm in the Biblical Judeo-Christian category of “promise”, it transformed the Greek idea of physis and the idea of time and it introduced the idea of history (Löwith). Here we study fundamental aspects of this paradigm to the light of Marx’s, Nietzsche’s and Heidegger’s philosophy, than we reflect about effects of this nomination and how Technics has changed ideas of limit, body and death.

The greek notions of limit and of hybris take on a different meaning in Christian culture. Galimberti attributes to Christianity the cause of the pathos that animated the progress of the sciences, the phenomenon of secularization and desacralization. Bodei interprets the triumphalistic conception of modernity as the sign of the radical break with the greek past. The different human limit experiences outlined here (sensory-linguistic, relational, moral-religious and gnoseological-ontological) represent two fundamental possibilities: being inside or outside of the limit.

HERMENEUTIC PLURALISM AND THE QUESTION OF TRUTH FOR GIANNI VATTIMO Hermeneutic pluralism is the proposal of the Italian philosopher Gianni Vattimo to the philosophical, political and social question of plurality. Starting from important philosophers (including Schleiermacher, Gadamer, Heidegger and above all Nietzsche), Vattimo decide for a philosophical thought that loses the “metaphysical pretense” of truth. Hermeneutics means for Vattimo the existence’s interpretive structure, not only a discipline for a correct reading of texts, the dialogue between interpreters, the democracy’s being and possibility, in a religious scope, of a non-violent God.

Bonhoeffer faces this connection from a theological point of view: at first, identifying a subtle relation between the way of meaning the " grace " and " secularization " of the Church in the times of Luther, then recognizing secu-larization as a positive Christian sense.

To answer this question, it traces a brief history of the family in the West through a dialogue with some of the Western thinkers who have shaped its evolution.

purpose of the Kierkegaard’s philosophical and theological

the father of existentialism, has rethought and brought
back some of the Christian categories such as imitation,
freedom and faith into a broader context. Our
contribution reflects on Kierkegaard’s idea of Christianity

faith in relation to the life of «one’s own», especially
starting from Fear and Trembling (1843).

HERMENEUTIC PLURALISM AND THE QUESTION OF TRUTH FOR GIANNI VATTIMO
Hermeneutic pluralism is the proposal of the Italian philosopher Gianni Vattimo to the philosophical, political and social question of plurality.
