It is designed to provide better access to the growing intervention research relevant to speech pathology practice. In this paper, the contents of the research studies contained in speechBITE™ have been synthesised to describe the scope of the database. This paper presents the frequency of research studies across target areas of intervention, intervention type, service delivery method, research design/method, client subgroup/ etiology and age group using the search heading categories of speechBITE™. The authors also consider the changing profile of research design in intervention studies across time. The findings provide clinicians with an overview of the scope of the intervention research literature relevant to speech pathology practice.
