(thumbnail)
Also known as "Savior of the universe!" and "The Fastest Bot Alive!".

Flash (aka Breakneck)'s entire job is to be shot at. He uses his blazing fast speed to draw Decepticon fire away from his teammates. He's a show-off stuntman whose antics are as irritating to his fellow Autobots as they are to the Decepticons trying (and failing) to blast him, but his teammates tolerate him because hey, he's the guy getting shot at, not them.

He's also not too shabby a fighter, specializing in using his turbine engine to get in close enough to surprised aerial foes to peel off a few good shots of his own.

"I got a seat at the big conference table...I'm going to paint my logo on it!"

After the conquest of Cybertron by Megatron and the Aerospace Extermination Squadron, Flash and the rest of the Turbomasters evaded capture and participated in the Autobot underground resistance. The Age of Wrath Pt.2 Flash became highly frustrated at their lack of offensive action against the Decepticons, and he was aghast when Perceptor briefed the Turbomasters in the Think-Tank about the attempt to locate the missing Optimus Prime. When Perceptor left them alone, however, the Turbomasters partook in a game of tear'n'chase. Flash evaded his pursuing teammates, but accidentally drove into the Dimensional Interface Assembly, sending him somewhere very far from home... The Age of Wrath Pt.3

The Age of Wrath ceased publication before the story could conclude. The following would have taken place in unpublished issues.

Flash managed to evade a gang of Sharkticons and Allicons, and eventually found his way into a citadel, where he learned through eavesdropping that the Quintessons had provided Megatron with his army in exchange for the promised delivery of Cybertron's core. The Age of Wrath Pt.4 Flash was found out by the Quintessons, but managed to escape them and their Sharkticons by using his vehicle mode's superior speed. The Age of Wrath Pt.5 He was unfortunately unable to lose his pursuers on his return-trip to Cybertron however, and wound up damaged beyond repair. Before his death, he delivered information to his fellow Turbomasters proving that Megatron was involved with the Quintessons, which in turn pitted the Decepticon's allies against him. The Age of Wrath Pt.6

Haw! Get a load of "Puny Parker"!
  • Flash (Small Turbomaster, 1992)
Flash transforms into a heavily modified Lamborghini Diablo sports car. Like all Turbomasters, Flash has a turbine-engine accessory that becomes a spring-loaded missile launcher weapon for robot mode. The missiles on these toys are noteworthy for being far too small to pass U.S. safety testing.
This mold was released in Japan with no changes as Spin Road, a completely separate character.

[edit] Note

  • Flash is pictured in vehicle mode, along with the other three small Turbomasters, in the Predator Skydive's Megavisor slide.
  • Unlike most of his fellow Turbomasters, Flash was not given a different name for the French/Dutch packaging that was also available in Europe (which called the group "Canon Masters" [sic]). Oddly, Flash was also inexplicably named "Breakneck" in the English and German versions of the "Predator Air Attack!" catalogue story.
  • A proposed Fun Publications BotCon exclusive was a redeco of Prime Bumblebee into Flash.[1]
