IDW movie comics
Alexi was the nephew of Soundwave's original catspaw within the Russian space program. He inherited his uncle's position as Decepticon liaison some time after Soundwave left Earth in the late 1970s, quietly working to keep the wreck of the Ark on the Moon from being discovered. When Soundwave returned in 2007, Alexi was soon to find himself pressed into much more active service. Convergence chapter 4
Notes
- His name is rather on-the-nose, as "voskhod" (Восход, "sunrise" or "ascent") was the second Soviet spaceflight programme.
- According to the novelization, Voskhod's wife and two children died in the Chernobyl Accident. As such, he actually thanks Laserbeak for putting him out of his misery.
