Brian Chapman
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Brian" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Brian (disambiguation). |
Brian Chapman is a high ranking employee at Hasbro who has a long history with the Transformers brand.
Brian is in very select company as a regular designer who eventually climbed quite a ways up the corporate ladder. Despite this, he is a relative cipher to the fandom due to his non-presence at collector-oriented events.
As a designer, he came on in 1992 working in Hasbro's Kenner division on toylines such as Batman, Star Wars and Jurassic Park, before being moved to Transformers with his promotion to Design Director around the Transmetal 2 phase of Beast Wars, presumably placing him as the design lead on Beast Machines overseeing franchise legend Aaron Archer.
In the year 2001, shortly after the Kenner division was closed down and its product lines were fully merged into Hasbro, he was promoted to Senior Design Director overseeing Transformers and a handful of other brands, where he is known to have played a part in the production of Armada and Cybertron.
In later years, he held titles such as "Vice President of Boys' Toys", "Director of Design for Toys/Games/IP," and, as of 2013 "President of Global Design and Development for Toys/Games/IP."
He has a proud family history of working with heavy machinery and owns at least one recreational bulldozer.
